I WANNA BE LIKE YOU
Ibeyi Lyrics
Look at you now, so wild and free
Watching you move, why can't that be me?
I'm often down, often down
I often cry, often cry
The only thing I know
I wanna be like you, child
I wanna be like you, you
I wanna be like you
I wanna be like you, you
Take me to the river
Help me find the sun
I will follow you child
I used to know the way
I forgot it all
I used to be you, child
I wanna be like you, you
I wanna be like you
I wanna be like you, you
I wanna be like you
I wanna be like you, like you
I wanna be like you
I wanna be like you, like
I wanna be like you

I'm very curious to know if the original commenters still feel like Ibeyi's sound has drastically changed now that the album has dropped. It's pretty clear that this song and Me Voy weren't indicative of the overall album's sound at all. You all really did the most before even hearing the record in its entirety lol.

Besides, this is the most listenable song they've ever made

This album makes sense when listened as a whole. It has a different yet deep meaning and message . The spirituality, the feminism, addressing police brutality etc. It's not gonna be like the debut because it's not a debut and you two are no longer in the dark space you were before and during recording of the debut. I appreciate the growth and light ladies ❤❤

Beautiful photography. I love how the songs speaks to both characters in the video. One wanting to be the other.
