Jaani Peuhu, already a seasoned rock music professional at a pretty young age, who wanted to do exactly what he wanted, without having to please anybody else except himself. So he wrote a number of songs that sounded more like the music he was hearing in his head different than the sound of any of his prior bands.

These songs became Nude, the first Iconcrash album, that was released in spring 2005. Jaani had written, produced and performed much of the record himself. Although there were also several guest musicians involved, it was basically Jaani's solo album.

To be able to perform his songs on stage, Jaani put together a live band consisting of his musician friends. This band played dozens of gigs to support the album, and during those gigs these talented musicians made their own interpretations of the songs on the album.

Nowadays Iconcrash is a real band from Finland consisting of five people. Besides Jaani, these people are Anu Tukeva on keyboards, Matti Toivonen on guitar,Riku-Niilo Mattila on bass and Oskari Vilmunen on drums.

"Doing it all by myself certainly had its appeal and its benefits, I wont deny that. However, now I felt like it was time to explore the benefits of having a real band, and with the current line-up, there are plenty of benefits", Jaani says. "Now every ones ideas and input are welcome, and I honestly believe this makes our music better."

"To me, Iconcrash never felt like my solo project entirely, even if Nude was pretty much a solo effort", Jaani says. "When we have been on the road, and even when we are at our rehearsal place, it has always felt like a real band. But as far as studio work goes, there has been a major change, as its no longer just me doing everything".

Iconcrash are currently working on their second album. Jaani says the influences for the album are such luminaries as Killing Joke (eighties stuff), Depeche Mode (Songs of Faith And Devotion), Sneaker Pimps, Trent Reznor, Billy Corgan, Björk and King Diamond. If that doesn't sound like a recipe for an interesting record, we don't know what does.

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Iconcrash's song "Concordia" depict a destructive and turbulent relationship. The singer advises their partner not to hide their tears and that it's okay to cry, but the lights have already died inside their house and everything is different now. The singer seems to be frustrated with their partner as they no longer make any sense, and their love is absent. The chorus reveals the singer's attachment to their partner, but they have shot them down to the ground and are now burying their love in their hunting ground.

As the song progresses, the singer's aggression towards their partner intensifies, and they reveal how they are holding their partner for the last time, and there is no easy way out. The singer seems to want to destroy their partner emotionally and strike them down with their words. The last verse repeats the chorus, and the metaphor of the singer's partner being a little bird who once used to fly so high, far too high suggests that the singer is aware of the damage they have done to their partner and regrets their actions.
