Something
Idiot Flesh Lyrics
Give me something...
Give me something I can use
Give me something...
Give me something to say
Wake up!
You're empty here
I don't believe you anymore
You had so much to say
And left me holding up the floor
Or that would be okay
It doesn't have to be anything,
{Well, it could be nothing}
Just as long as it doesn't stay that way
Waiting, waiting...
Waiting for a song
Waiting for these hands to tell me
Why this always takes so long
And it's easy to criticize
And it's easier to laugh than cry
And it's easy to do it all again
But I don't know what to say to make you see the sun
The same sun
Shining down on me alright
Shining down on you all wrong
Waiting for all this...
To give me Something
Give me something I can use
Give me something...
Give me something to say
Be clever - ??
Don't tongue-in-cheek smile for too long
Said life is cool
Don't let 'em suspect
To get it wrong
Chew on broken glass
Let the pain feed your song
Scream bloody revolution
Cause something's got to change
It can't be you, so tear it down, son
Leave 'em wide open
And Look around
Brothers and sisters
Ride in glory
See what you have built
I guess it's alright
We hold our hands
Just use up our common ground
Waiting to make a stand
We hold our devils down
And it's easy to criticize
And it's easier to laugh than cry
And it's easy to do it all again
But I don't know what to say to make you see the sun
The same sun
Shining down on me alright
Shining down on you all wrong
Just give me
Something
Give me something I can use
Give me something...
Give me something to say
Wake up!

Idiot Flesh was a talented and musically discordant band blending by a wide array of influences ranging from funk to prog rock and heavy metal as well as aspects of Eastern European Folk, Opera & Butoh dance performances. They eventually changed their name to Idiot Flesh prior to the release of their first album in 1990. After Idiot Flesh disbanded in the late 90's, lead singer Nils Frykdahl and bassist/producer Dan Rathbun later formed Sleepytime Gorilla Museum.
Known to tour the US in a converted city bus with Rathbun as the driver/mechanic, with the windshield destination banner of HELL. Besides their wild performances which embodied a "rock against rock" ethos, they were also known to defy classification with marching band routines, performing puppet shows, and playing household items as instruments (in tune). After finding few financial rewards for their increasingly complex stage show, Idiot Flesh disbanded in 1998.
Core Members:
- Captain Dragon (Gene Jun; Guitar, Percussion, Violin, Vocals, Arranger)
- Hyena Boy (Wes Anderson; 1994-1998: Percussion, Drums, Marimba, Multi Instruments, Talking, Vocals, Bassoon, Trash Cans)
- The Improver (Dan Rathbun; Bass, Multi Instruments, Saw, "Talking", Horn, Vocals, Trombone, Cello, Megaphone; Engineer)
- Pin (Nils Frykdahl; Flute, Saxophone, Percussion, Castanets, Vocals, Guitar; Cover Design/Graphics)
- Chuck Squier (1985 through 1994: Drums, Cover art)
Discography:
- (1990) Tales of Instant Knowledge and Sure Death
- (1994) The Nothing Show
- (1995) Teen Devil/Twitch (4 Song EP)
- (1997) Fancy (Nov. 11)

Most underrated band of all time? I think so. Would kill to be able to have seen them live. SGM was great enough but I heard Idiot Flesh was even better/crazier.

of all time? thats a question with no answer, nor should anyone really attempt to answer it. Were they an obscure gem during their tenure? absolutely. But their musical creativity climaxed with this album (in my most humble opinion, of course), and then their style changed and became something not like what you hear on this album. If anything in regards to your statement, I would say that this ALBUM is one of the most obscure gems of the late 80s, early 90s, and is Idiot Flesh' magnum opus.

+qwqwqwqw99 Yes, they were! Crazy shows, I remember them driving(or carrying? I was loaded) a truck through the crowd...

Thanks for uploading this. Always wanted to hear this album. I have the Nothing Show, but this album is pretty damn much impossible to find.
