Madrigal
Ilan Chester Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Olvido de todo y de mí
Parece que todo lo
Tengo teniéndote a ti
Y no siento este mal que me
Agobia y que llevo conmigo
Arruinando esta vida que
Tengo y no puedo vivir...
Noches de mi largo camino...
Y es por eso que frente al
Destino no quiero vivir.
Una rosa en tu pelo parece
Una estrella en el cielo,
Y en el viento parece un
Acento tu voz musical
Y parece un destello de
Luz la medalla en tu cuello
Al menor movimiento
De tu cuerpo al andar
Yo a tu lado no siento las
Horas que van con el tiempo
Ni me acuerdo que llevo en mí
Pecho una herida mortal
Yo contigo no siento el sonar
De la lluvia y el viento
Porque llevo tu amor en mí
Pecho como un madrigal
Yo a tu lado no siento las
Horas que van con el tiempo
Ni me acuerdo que llevo en mí
Pecho una herida mortal
Yo contigo no siento el sonar
De la lluvia y el viento
Porque llevo tu amor en mí
Pecho como un madrigal
The lyrics to Ilan Chester's Madrigal tell the story of a love so strong that it makes the singer forget everything else, including their own troubles. They describe the feeling of having everything they need just by being with their loved one, and how their presence brings light to even the darkest of nights. The singer compares the presence of their loved one to a rose in their hair that looks like a star in the sky, and their voice to a musical accent carried on the wind. They find themselves lost in time when they are with their loved one, forgetting the hours that pass and the wounds they carry within themselves.
At its core, Madrigal is a love song that celebrates the power of being in love and how it can make even the hardest times bearable. The lyrics describe the way that love can heal and bring light to even the darkest moments. The song is lyrically rich and poetic, using vivid imagery to describe the power of the love shared by the singer and their loved one.
One interesting fact about Madrigal is that it is a song from the Venezuelan genre of music called "pop llanero", which incorporates traditional Latin American music with pop elements. Ilan Chester is known for his contributions to this genre and has been a prominent figure in Venezuelan music for decades. The song was released in 1980 and has since become a beloved classic in Latin American music.
