ILLUMINATE manage to combine classical elements, dance rhythms, electronic sound collages, romantic piano parts and heavy guitars without being unfaithful to their typical, unmistakable sound. After seventeen years of band history, 12 studio albums, world-wide life-performances, and having an enormous fan-base, ILLUMINATE are one of the most successful acts of the Alternative / Dark Wave-segment.

2. DJ Illuminate, a House, Electro, Dubstep music producer hailing from United States. His works incorporate headbanging elements of Hard Bass Music with Melodic Trance Synths into Modern Electronic Dance Music. Although highly underrated, DJ Illuminate is known for his free EP, "Legacy", released at August of 2013.

In Nachtmusik, Illuminate tells a story of a mystical night where the world seemed to fall apart for the singer. As the person they loved fell asleep, the light in the room shattered into tiny pieces, scattering across the mirrors. In the meantime, the wind raged outside, tearing the clouds across the sky, only to be caught by the singer's soul, lost in the abyss of time. That same night, as the person was leaving, Death himself came to deliver a message. "The world is mine," he said, "and every grave shall be yours. I have planned out your loneliness."
This song is a deeply emotional work of art that speaks to the human condition. The lyrics use visual imagery to invoke a sense of chaos and despair that the singer is feeling. The shattered light can represent a lost love or a forgotten memory that they can't seem to forget. The wind blowing the clouds away could be the singer's emotions, flying off into the night with no purpose.
