Warriors
Imagine.Dragons Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

As a child, you would wait and watch from far away
But you always knew that you'd be the one
That work while they all play

In youth, you'd lay awake at night and scheme
Of all the things that you would change
But it was just a dream
Here we are, don't turn away now (don't turn away)
We are the warriors that built this town
Here we are, don't turn away now (don't turn away)
We are the warriors that built this town
From dust

Will come
When you will have to rise
Above the best and prove yourself
Your spirit never dies

Farewell, I've gone to take my throne above
But don't weep for me
'Cause this will be the labor of my love

Here we are, don't turn away now (don't turn away)
We are the warriors that built this town
Here we are, don't turn away now (don't turn away)
We are the warriors that built this town
From dust

Here we are, don't turn away now (don't turn away)
We are the warriors that built this town
Here we are, don't turn away now (don't turn away)

We are the warriors that built this town
From dust

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of the song Warriors by Imagine Dragons convey messages of resilience, determination, and perseverance. It offers inspiration to those who feel like they are on the verge of giving up, reminding them that they have the ability to rise above the challenges they face. The opening lines describe the feeling of being an outsider as a child, watching others play and knowing that you are destined for something more. The second verse talks about the restlessness of youth, dreaming of change but unsure if those dreams will ever become reality.

However, the chorus is a call to action, urging listeners to embrace their inner warrior and not turn away when faced with adversity. The line "We are the warriors that built this town from dust" is a powerful metaphor for the idea that we have the ability to create something meaningful and long-lasting even in the face of difficult circumstances. The song's final lines, "Farewell, I've gone to take my throne above, But don't weep for me, 'Cause this will be the labor of my love" serve as a declaration of triumph over obstacles and a commitment to pursuing one's passions, even in the face of obstacles or failure.

Overall, the lyrics of Warriors by Imagine Dragons emphasize the importance of perseverance and determination in the face of adversity. It encourages listeners to embrace their inner strength and to work hard to build something meaningful for themselves and for others.

You know, after all this time I still come back to this every now and again. It's still imo the best World's video Riot has made, and I don't just mean in terms of the song. This one captures the spirit of competition like no other. The others are about pros competing against each other, this one feels more relatable, it's a bunch of average joes that go from amateur to pro. The story in this MV is just unparred, it captures the struggle, the up and downs of competing. It's honestly such a moving and inspiring MV.

Same... Chills every time.

@deniss6654

I completely agree. Riots focused too much on eSports players instead of highlighting regular players.
