Warriors
Imagine Dragons Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

As a child, you would wait and watch from far away
But you always knew that you'd be the one
That work while they all play

In youth, you'd lay awake at night and scheme
Of all the things that you would change
But it was just a dream
Here we are, don't turn away now (don't turn away)
We are the warriors that built this town
Here we are, don't turn away now (don't turn away)
We are the warriors that built this town
From dust

Will come
When you will have to rise
Above the best and prove yourself
Your spirit never dies

Farewell, I've gone to take my throne above
But don't weep for me
'Cause this will be the labor of my love

Here we are, don't turn away now (don't turn away)
We are the warriors that built this town
Here we are, don't turn away now (don't turn away)
We are the warriors that built this town
From dust

Here we are, don't turn away now (don't turn away)
We are the warriors that built this town
Here we are, don't turn away now (don't turn away)

We are the warriors that built this town
From dust

Overall Meaning

The song "Warriors" by Imagine Dragons speaks to the resiliency that is required to become successful. It shows the journey of someone who has always felt out of place and is ready to go against the odds to prove themselves. The opening lines capture the idea of someone who was waiting for a chance to show themselves, watch the opportunities flash by, and work hard while others were playing.

In the next verse, the song moves into the journey of the singer's youth, where they understand that they need to work hard to change the world but that most of their ideas were just a dream. However, the song takes a dramatic turn with the chorus, where it showcases how far the singer and others have come to build a new town from the ground up, rise above challenges, and prove themselves in the face of failure.

The song concludes with a goodbye where the singer seems content to leave, knowing that all their hard work has contributed to building a new community. The lyrics, "this will be the labor of my love," reflect that the singer's love for this town and their efforts has allowed them to leave confidently. The song presents a powerful message of perseverance, hard work, courage, and self-belief.

ATEEZ' CHOI SAN NAILED THE PERFORMANCE VIDEO OF WARRIORS.

From their first album to now, ATEEZ has proven themselves as Warriors for relying on themselves and organically growing to who they are now.

Their lyrics have always been consistently meaningful and powerful. Coupled that with their 8000% power performances, they are truly encouraging.

They became performers because they have a message they wanted to share and be good influence to people especially youth and not just for fame or money.

You know, after all this time I still come back to this every now and again. It's still imo the best World's video Riot has made, and I don't just mean in terms of the song. This one captures the spirit of competition like no other. The others are about pros competing against each other, this one feels more relatable, it's a bunch of average joes that go from amateur to pro. The story in this MV is just unparred, it captures the struggle, the up and downs of competing. It's honestly such a moving and inspiring MV.

Same... Chills every time.

@deniss6654

I completely agree. Riots focused too much on eSports players instead of highlighting regular players.
