CC Cowboys
Imperiet Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Tärningen är kastad och världen ligger klar
Det här är ett korståg tralala
så skål mina herrar blott stjärnorna är kvar
Vi e' fredskorpar
Kalashnikov kamrater
Coca Cola Cowboys
Hello hurray we are the great
we are the soldiers of the human race
Hello hurray we are the great
we are the soldiers of the human race
Öst e' mest men väst e' bäst kamrat
Vi kommer från Metropolis men passen e' från Moskva
Å allting här är gratis om du svär
att skyldra ditt gevär och va en basebollproletär
Vi e' fredskorpar
Kalashnikov kamrater
Coca Cola Cowboys
och pojksoldater
Vi älskar er med vår mission
Vi älskar våran religion
Vi älskar er i vårat våld
Vi älskar vår paroll
Hello hurray we are the great
we are the soldier's of the human race
Hello hurray we are the great
we are the soldier's of the human race
We know it's best for you
For you
Vi kommer och vi trampar på er jord
och dom som inte e' med oss är emot
Spela inte hjälte vår dröm den är global
Imperiet skall segra tralala haha
Hello hurray we are the great
we are the soldier's of the human race...
...we know it's best for you
The song "CC Cowboys" by Imperiet is a critique of imperialism and Western expansionism. The lyrics open by acknowledging that Rome was not built in a day and that the world was conquered through hard work and perseverance, but then declare that this conquest is akin to a crusade. The chorus introduces the oxymoronic phrase "Coca Cola Cowboys" to describe the arrogance and brashness of Western aggression. The second verse explicitly references the Cold War division between East and West, with the singer claiming that they come from Metropolis but their passports are from Moscow. The bridge declares the love of the imperialist for their mission, religion, violence, and slogan. The final verse asserts the moral superiority of Western values and warns that anyone who opposes them is an enemy.
The song is a politically charged commentary on the Western imperialism that was prevalent during the time it was written, in the 1980s. The band was known for incorporating political themes into their music and this song is no exception. The lyrics call out the arrogance and violence of Western nations, specifically the United States, as they assert their dominance over the rest of the world. The phrase "Coca Cola Cowboys" became a popular term to describe the image of Western expansionism and consumerism.

How could you interpret this song as Anarchism ?
Thåström wrote many political song where he told what he believed was fucked up.
In this case US & Russia influences in Sweden and the World during that time.
If you listen to other of his songs like: 800 grader, Die Mauer, Du ska va president & staten & kapitalet you will see that they are all political in nature telling the story of what is wrong from the other side/opinion and sometimes on the same side with irony like in this case.
