InMe have toured with the likes of Nickelback, Limp Bizkit, Pendulum, Deftones, Serj Tankian, Staind, Feeder, Biffy Clyro and The Rasmus; they have also played main stages and packed tents at respected festivals such as Reading, Sonisphere, Download & Summer Breeze.
The InMe of today is a very different animal to that of their 2003 debut album “Overgrown Eden”. Their continued evolution has maintained a fiercely loyal fanbase and challenged them further as musicians with the release of every album. Following on from “White Butterfly” (2005), “Daydream Anonymous” (2007) and “Herald Moth” (2009) the band released “Phoenix – The Best of InMe” in 2010: this celebrated their career so far and featured exclusive tracks that showcased InMe’s progression from their early days, when they had been thrust into the spotlight as teens.
Over seven years on from first discovering the band, Kerrang! Magazine witnessed a full tent at Sonisphere Festival as “fans old and new celebrate a band who lionheartedly refuse to die”. Later in 2010 InMe packed out The Relentless Garage in London for 4 album shows to crown a year that proved beyond doubt that they were alive, well and very much wanted by the UK alternative rock scene.
Rolling on to 2011, InMe kept quiet until their triumphant return to Sonisphere Festival: this time the tent was bigger, and once again full to capacity, as 5000 people crammed into Bohemia to see them rock as hard as ever. The temptation could have been to head straight out on tour, but the band had been developing their sound for their 5th studio album entitled “The Pride”; they will spend the rest of 2011 perfecting the opening of the next chapter of InMe.
Always a band to give their all, they were never likely to return in 2012 with a mere handful of headline shows. True to form, InMe will release “The Pride” in February 2012 with a 35-date tour spanning the entire of the UK and Ireland until the end of March where London’s o2 Academy Islington will host the final show of the tour.
“The Pride” was released via Pledge Music in spring 2012, an innovative approach that puts the artists and their fans in control of the development of the album. Having seen the overwhelming support frontman Dave McPherson received for his solo album in March 2011 via the same route, it was clear to InMe that their fans would want to be involved in how “The Pride” was released.

Inside
InMe Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I created it, it wants to leave now
It looks at me 'cause it's hungry
But I’ve run out of food
Yeah, it still wants to be heard and it needs me
I sit at home and I wonder
I wonder why it has come to this now
Yeah, it likes to feel like you’re listening
Like a father's selfish motives,
And it needs to be contained
(Stood back and watched you die)
Inside, you want to beat me (Inside)
Comes round and fucks your brains out (Watched you die)
Infection of rejection (Inside)
And it still wants more
(Inside, inside, inside
Inside, inside, inside)
Inside, inside, inside
Inside, inside, inside
Yeah, it likes to have your attention
Like some kind of cheap redemption
And it needs to be contained
(Stood back and watched you die)
Inside, you want to beat me (Inside)
Comes round and fucks your brains out (Watched you die)
Infection of rejection (Inside)
And it still wants more
Inside, you want to beat me (Inside)
Comes round and fucks your brains out (Watched you die)
Infection of rejection (Inside)
And it still wants more
(Inside, inside, inside
Inside, inside, inside)
Inside, inside, inside
Inside, inside
The lyrics of InMe's "Inside" express the internal conflict of the singer, who is struggling to contain a part of themselves that they have created. This part is hungry and demanding, seeking attention and validation from others, and is likened to a father's selfish motives. The singer reflects on the past and how this internal struggle has affected them, with the infection of rejection leaving a lasting impact. However, despite efforts to control it, the part still wants more.
The song explores the idea of the darker aspects of ourselves, the parts that we may try to suppress or ignore but that still exist within us. The use of the word "Inside" highlights how these parts are internal and part of our own being, and cannot be easily separated from ourselves. The repeated lines of "it still wants more" emphasize the unrelenting nature of these parts, and the need to constantly balance and manage them.
Overall, "Inside" is a introspective and thought-provoking song that delves into the complexities of the human psyche and the struggle to maintain control over oneself.
