@Amateka We lost our beloved dog of 14 years tragically and unexpectedly yesterday, due to uncontrollable seizures. We found out he had tumors in his brain that caused them. He was in perfect health the day before hence why it was unexpected. I don't ask for pity; I know how you feel. You love them as much as you can, while they are around. Just know, they will be waiting patiently for you when it's your turn to cross the rainbow bridge. My condolences to your family as well.

I posted this comment 6 months ago and now, I feel the same amount of sadness. I can't get over what happened a year ago with my dog. It's so hard for me not to know if he's okay, or if he's lonely, or, if he even remembers me. I know he's most likely found a family to love and take care of him forever, and I'm still can't except the fact that I won't ever see him again. I'm not necessarily looking for pity, but since I can't express my feelings to my family, doing it to every kind person out there who sees this makes me feel comforted. Thanks..

I actually wanted to share this to whomever may need to here it. I lost my dog 10 months ago. I gave him away after only having him for 2 and a half months. I was going to young women's camp (I'm a member of the church of Jesús Christ of latter day saints) and my parents said they would give my dog away when I was at camp, and saying goodbye to him that morning I left would be our last goodbye. That's the moment I realized how much I loved him and never wanted to let go. My only wish to this day, would be to hug him again. Just once. And My heart knew that. Because, a few nights ago, I had a dream. I was walking down some stairs. They were cold, and made of stone. It was dark. As I followed them down into the dark, there was a door at the bottom. I opened it slowly, and looked in. It was dark in the room, cold, stoney, but there was a light, dim enough for me to see what was in there. It was completely empty, except, my dog was sitting in a corner. He looked up at me as the door opened. In my dream I knew that all I wanted to do was touch him again. And I never thought that would happen. But there he was. Sitting. Lonely. Waiting. I was in shock in my dream. I couldn't move. He was here, just me and him, he needed me. He NEEDED me... I rushed through the door and wrapped my arms around him. I was crying. I was so happy. I woke up. The dream had felt so real, I still thought he was there, until I came too. And, instead of feeling sad, or thinking this wasn't fair, and I clearly needed him, i was happy. My heart knew I needed to give him that hug. But it knew that wasn't realistically possible. So it did what it could. That was the best dream I've ever had, and I could truly never ask for more. We all have those sad moments in our lives. Nobody else could understand your pain, know one else has felt this level of pain to understand, I'm so lonely and sad, I just want to give up. We can all find something, SOMETHING to pull us back through that light and out of the darkness. YOU CAN FIND IT. You have to. Cause living through that pain, is no way to live. You might need to be patient. Took me 10 months to find it. Took me 10 months to find out, "I may feel like no one understands me, but there will ALWAYS be someone. Someone who loves you, cares for you, and will do anything they can to make you feel happy. Yourself. So don't let yourself down. Stop having those bad thoughts, or sad feelings. Help yourself by doing, thinking, and being around those who make you happy. YOU CAN DO THIS!!!"

It's so haunting, lonesome song but it gives this hopeful premise. It's like a memory of someone very important to You like a friend, a family member, or a lover maybe - someone who is gone now, but You really, really miss. After all, at the end of time You will meet each other, rejoin one last time. Beautiful.

I just read the part of the book again where Sam, still in the shire, after meeting the elves, Sam tells Frodo that he feels odd. Like not knowing what will come but that he has to go. The song fits well there. Except they don't know whether they will return.

@Akim Nerom I think its capturing the Emotion of losing some one and still live on while that person is still no more there. J.R.R. Tolkiens wife died before him. In Dreams, also meaning day dreaming and thinking of those person and than feeling that Emotionen of missing someone is like "calling me there". "I will go there" is the wish to meet those person again.
