Dead End.
In Flames Lyrics

Save all your prayers
I think we're lost today
There's no morning after
No one's around to blame

I'm not afraid to bleed
But I will do it for you
We'll start among hypocrites
The melody of our time

So say goodbye to the world
We are the dead that walk the earth

Scream your lungs out
Await for laughter
You don't have to wait forever
It's the next disaster

What decides when you've lost the war
When the first man falls
Or when they erase it all

We're too numb to feel
The downfall starts right here
Hold your breath and swim
Swallowed by life's tear

In times of make believe
No one really seems to care
Maybe I should care less
'Cause I will die too

So say goodbye to the world
We are the dead that walk the earth

Scream your lungs out
Await for laughter
You don't have to wait forever
It's the next disaster

What will it take for us to realize
The more we provoke
Winter will come twice

Save all your prayers
I think we're lost today
There's no morning after
No one's around to blame

Scream your lungs out
Await for laughter
You don't have to wait forever
It's the next disaster

Scream your lungs out
Await for Laughter

You don't have to wait forever
It's the next disaster

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to "Dead End" are a reflection on the state of the world we live in. It begins with the acknowledgement that prayers won't help us find our way back from where we are. The next line, "There's no morning after," suggests that the damage has been done and there's no going back. The use of "we" throughout the song implies that the singer is not alone in feeling lost in the world.

The line "So say goodbye to the world, we are the dead that walk the earth" implies that chaos has taken over and the world is consumed by darkness. The singer is no longer living, but merely a shell of a person, walking through life without purpose. The lyrics suggest that people have become numb to the world around them and the consequences of their actions. The line "What will it take for us to realize, the more we provoke, Winter will come twice" suggests that people continue to act recklessly, unaware that their actions will have consequences.

Overall, the song is a commentary on the state of society and the world we live in. It highlights the importance of taking responsibility for our actions and being mindful of the effects they have on the world around us.

Trigger and Cloud Connected were the songs that got me into In Flames back in 2004 (I think, give or take a year). Dead End, however, is the track that will stick with me forever. Favourite song of theirs

Viele, viele Jahre später höre ich dieses Stück zum ersten Mal und liebe die Stimme von Lisa. Richtig gut passt ihre Stimme in dieses Stück.
