The World is Yours
In Search Of Sun Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I've made up my mind
Because all my days are dying
And I feel the envy and the crying
From those four walled comfort cells
That I've seen you fuck around
In for nobody year after year

So I'll go about my way
And let my morals stay
Somehow you think the world is yours?
For now...

Ever done time alone?
It even petrifies me now
But I'm not the one
That should tell you we're the same

You shouldn't bow down for them
They're the ones that will suck the life from you
Because I know you hate it when nobody's there
To see how you play my game

So I'll go about my way
And let my morals stay
Somehow you think the world is yours?
For now...

We are the ones that never learn
We are the flame that always burns
We hold the torch to where you lurk
We try to make this one life work

We try to make this one life work

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to In Search Of Sun's song The World is Yours discuss a sense of feeling trapped in one's own life, an awareness that one's days are passing by and a longing to break away from a routine of self-destructive behavior. The singer expresses a sense of frustration with those who choose to live in their own 'four walled comfort cells,' a metaphor for settling into a life of safety and comfort, and never daring to venture out of those boundaries. The tone of the lyrics is charged with both desperation and a sense of resolve to break free, with the singer insisting that he will go his own way and live by his own morals.

The lyrics also address the feeling of being misunderstood, with the singer pointing out that while he has faced fear and isolation on his own, he does not assume that others should have gone through the same experience. He implores the listener not to bow down to a societal framework that will ultimately suck the life out of them. The song ends with a defiant message, with the singer claiming that it is up to individuals to make their lives work in a way that is true to themselves.

Overall, the lyrics to The World is Yours provide a powerful message on the importance of taking control of one's own life, and breaking free from the conventions of societal expectations.

For YEARS I've been searing their music and was unsuccessful cause I had forgotten their name...I cant even explain how happy I am to have found them again!!! This band is simply amazing, like Billy Talent on steroids, but in a great way of course. They deserve to be a much bigger band. Keep up the great work fellas!!!
