Band History
In 2005, singer Maria Brink and guitarist Chris Howorth met through some common friends. After becoming acquainted they found there was much in common between the two and began writing songs. Soon thereafter they enlisted the help of Los Angeles drummer Jeff Fabb. The band was first called Dying Star. By mid-2005, the lineup included Brink, Howorth, Fabb, guitarist Blake Bunzell, and bassist Josh Newell. The band recorded demos, and they generated a large internet following. During the summer of 2005, Newell departed from the band to focus on his other project, Ketaset, as well as his sound engineering work. A close friend of the band named Pascual Romero (of Tinhorn) took over bass duties for a short time before Jesse Landry was given the position, and the band found its permanent lineup. By the end of the year, In This Moment had generated such a large following due to diligent internet marketing and "do-it-yourself" touring, they sparked an interest from Century Media Records. A worldwide record deal followed. Jesse Landry departed from the band because he wanted to live his true dreams. Fly Planes. Kyle Konkiel Replaced him.
In May 2011, In This Moment posted on Facebook that they are working on new material for a new album hoping for a 2012 release. This new release was recorded without founding members Jeff Fabb and Blake Bunzel, who are both working with James Durbin as of September, 2011. Blood will be the first album since the band have parted ways with longtime manager, Blasko. Blood was revealed to be the album's title on April 6, 2012. On May 14, 2012, it was announced that the album will be released on August 14, 2012. "Blood" was released as the album's first single on June 12, 2012. The album artwork and track listing for Blood were released on June 18, 2012. New members include Travis Johnson on Bass, Randy Weitzel on Rhythm Guitar and Tom Hane on Drums.
In This Moment announced on February 5, 2014 that they had left their Century Media Records label that had produced their previous four studio albums and signed a new deal with Atlantic Records. They also said that they are set to enter the studio on February 23 to record their fifth studio album and follow up their break out album "Blood," released in 2012. Chris Howorth says, “We have a bunch of ideas and the way we did ‘Blood’ was different than we’d done any album before. We brought ideas and pieces and parts into the studio and wrote each song in the studio, one at a time. All the other albums we had the songs formatted and together already. So we’re going to do the same thing again. We’re gonna try to replicate the magic of ‘Blood’ and try to take the style and sound we had for ‘Blood’ and just do it bigger and better while still keeping true to that same vibe. That’s our sound. We feel like we found something and want to stick the flag in the ground on top of that hill.
On the 18th of November 2014, In This Moment released Black Widow, debuting at number 8, their highest position in the charts to date. Their sixth album, Ritual, was released in the summer of 2017. Their seventh studio album, Mother was released on March 27, 2020.

No Me Importa
In This Moment Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I'm definitely out of my mind
I know there′s something not quite right
Disconnect, system override
You're so brave from your side of the glass
And you, you can't compute, you can′t do the math
And you′re, you're playing god with your remote control
The truth is you silently study me
And there are consequences that you cannot see
And you ask yourself how did I unplug
But the simple truth is that I just don't give a fuck
I don′t care
I don't care
I don′t care
Baby I don't care
Baby I don't care
Oh I don′t care
No I don′t
You say you're the cure
But I smell your disease
I′ve figured you out
Like a rat in a cage
So come in tie me down try and reprogram me
Please run your tests tell me how I am malfunctioning
You cut me up sew me back together one more time
I'm not in sync, data breach can′t bring me back online
You start to panic when you realize you try to
Shut me down when you look in my eyes no matter
How you try and rewire me
Or psychoanalyze my psychology
I don't care
I don′t care
I don't care
Baby I don't care
Baby I don′t care
Oh I don′t care
No I don't
You say you′re the cure
But I smell your disease
I've figured you out
Like a rat in a cage
You put away all your needles and knives
Tell me do you feel satisfied
Did you get what you came here for
I can tell you still want more
Did you get everything you need
Are you finished watching me bleed
Did you think you could just walk away
Did you think I′d just let you leave
Maybe you didn't think I would know
Maybe you didn′t think I would see
Cause I'll never give what you want
I learned the truth a long time ago
I would die before I
Baby I don't care
Baby I don′t care
Baby I don′t care
Oh I don't care
Baby I don′t care
Don't tell me you′re pure
As you spread like a plague
I've figured it out
You′re the rat
Baby I don't care
Baby I don't care
Don′t tell me you′re pure
As you spread like a plague
I've figured it out
You′re the rat, rat in the cage
You're the rat in the cage
The song No Me Importa by In This Moment is a powerful, dark, and emotional representation of someone who has been through traumatic experiences and is now apathetic and detached. The lyrics convey a sense of numbness and indifference towards those trying to control or fix them. The opening lines, "Baby I'm sick inside, I'm definitely out of my mind, I know there's something not quite right, disconnect, system override" showcase an internal struggle that the singer is facing. They feel as if they are malfunctioning and need fixing, but they do not care enough to try.
The song's chorus, "I don't care, baby, I don't care, oh, I don't care," conveys the apathy the singer feels towards those who try to control or "fix" them. They see through the facade of others claiming to be the cure, but they smell their disease instead. The singer knows that those trying to control them put on a false appearance of being flawless or superior, but in reality, they have their own flaws.
Throughout the song, the singer senses their observer's attempt to control them, further strengthening the idea of being trapped in a cage. The chorus repeats, "don't tell me you're pure as you spread like a plague, I've figured it out, you're the rat in the cage," signifying the singer's growth in self-awareness. They recognize their observer's ill intent, and they see themselves as the subject of scrutiny and experimentation.
Overall, the song portrays a sense of detachment, apathy, and resilience that is often present in people who have been through traumatic experiences. It is a deep and thought-provoking song that highlights the importance of self-awareness and the dangers of being influenced by those who try to control us.

all spanish speakers that liked ITM already knew that they sing in english, dude, so probably none of us felt betrayed at all, not as much as the english speakers felt betrayed by a spanish or italian title (because it is written the same in spanish as in italian) ;)
