Their first Island Records single was the critically acclaimed "Take My Hand", co-written by a very young Sinéad O'Connor. This was followed by a second single, "Somebody To Love".
Newly signed to Virgin Records the band released "Seven Into the Sea", one of their most popular recordings. A debut album "Vaudeville" was released in early 1987.
The follow up album "The Long Acre" was released in 1988. It spawned two popular radio hits "All I Wanted" and "Don't Fear Me Now". A third single from the album, "Wheel Of Evil", was also released.
Take My Hand
In Tua Nua Lyrics

Tired man
Play the blues
Sing while you have nothing to lose
Silver moon
Weeping moon
Cry for me
Show me your soul sympathy
You have done all you can
Live no more
Sigh as you walk through the door
Take my hand
Take my hand
Lie on sand
Rest on sand
Close your eyes
Slowly close
Go to sleep
Sleep while you've dreams to keep
You have meant all you can
Live no more
Sigh as you walk through the door
Take my hand
Take my hand
Lie on sand
Rest on sand
Windy shore
Crying
But don't cry no more
The lyrics to In Tua Nua's song "Take My Hand" express a sense of weariness and loneliness. The opening lines describe a man who is both tired and lonely as he plays the blues, suggesting that he is perhaps a musician or artist who has experienced hardship and struggles. The imagery of the silver moon weeping in sympathy for the singer's sorrow is particularly poignant, conveying a sense of quiet despair.
The chorus of the song offers comfort to the singer, with the repeated refrain of "Take my hand" suggesting a simple but powerful gesture of solidarity and support. The idea of lying on the sand and resting also conjures up images of a peaceful and restful setting, further emphasizing the need for rest and respite from the singer's struggles.
The final lines of the song, "Windy shore, crying, but don't cry no more," further suggest a melancholic mood but also offer a glimmer of hope, indicating that the singer can find solace and comfort despite their emotional turmoil.
Overall, the lyrics offer a mix of despair and hope, conveying a sense of the ups and downs of emotion and the importance of finding support and comfort in difficult times.

I saw both Sinéad and In Tua Nua separately back in the 80's in Southern California. Both were incredible concerts. So sad it took her passing to bring this to my ears. Just so sad.
