I orbit round, the shadows I find
Inside of me, are rivers of gold
It's calling me, its calling me home
Do you see that?
Flickers of light colour green right there
My love, can you feel that?
My love, do you hear that?
Telling us we're the elite right here
My love, is it loud and clear?
No regrets, no fear
I see haloes glow wherever I, I see
We're young and free
Won't you come
Won't you come
Won't you come with me
I see haloes glow wherever I, I see
We're young and free
Won't you come
Won't you come
Won't you come with me
Won't you come
Won't you come
Won't you come with me
Won't you come
Won't you come
Won't you come with me
I see haloes glow wherever I, I see
We're wild and free
Won't you come
Won't you come
Won't you come with me
We multiply, into an army
We touch the sky
And let the stars in
Inside of you, are rivers of gold
They're calling me, they're calling you home
Do you see that?
Flickers of light colour green right there
My love, can you feel that?
Ricochet right through the beat right there
My love, do you hear that?
Telling us we're the elite right here
My love, is it loud and clear?
No regrets, no fear
I see haloes glow wherever I, I see
We're young and free
Won't you come
Won't you come
Won't you come with me
I see haloes glow wherever I, I see
We're young and free
Won't you come
Won't you come
Won't you come with me
Won't you come
Won't you come
Won't you come with me
Won't you come
Won't you come
Won't you come with me
I see haloes glow wherever I, I see
We're young and free
Won't you come
Won't you come
Won't you come with me
Won't you come
Won't you come
Won't you come with me
"Ina Wroldsen's song Haloes" is a celebratory song about living colorful and free. The title alone suggests this - a halo usually portrays an ethereal light that encircles the head of a saint, a god or a spirit. It symbolizes purity, holiness, and divinity, which translates to something otherworldly or supernatural. Starting with "Electrified, I circle starlight", Wroldsen invites the listener to come with her on a journey of exploration and adventure. She is in a state of wonder and amazement as she goes around exploring the world. In the line "It's calling me, it's calling me home", home is a metaphor for a place of comfort, safety, and belonging. This could be a physical place or a state of mind. Wroldsen finds this sense of belonging in the beauty and wonder of the world.
Wroldsen speaks to her lover, referring to him as "My love". She goes on to ask him if he sees the world as she does - in beautiful flickers of colorful light. They are both young, free and seemingly unstoppable. She speaks to him of feeling like they're part of an elite group, a chosen few who can see and hear things that others can't. This is their shared experience, and they should enjoy it, free of any regrets or fear.
Overall, Haloes is about living in the moment, seizing the day and embracing the beauty around you. It's a reminder that life is beautiful and that there's always something to marvel at. It's about being brave, exploring, and experiencing everything the world has to offer, and doing it with the people who matter most to you.
