2. Not only this Smooth Jazz band shares same band name, they have a song called "Millenium"(2006) that is exactly same title (intentionally misspelled) as the other Incognito's (Jazz Funk) song on their album "100° and Rising"(1995), plus the logo resembles in font. The title "Every Day"(2006) on the album Street Smarts exactly alike in titles (when read) with the other Incognito's famous tune "Everyday"(1995). They are often tagged totec radio. Also mis-tagged by fans as bluey where there's no link to Jean-Paul "Bluey" Maunick himself. r00ts & t4lk1n l0ud tags also used, that could mislead fans to the Bluey's famous tunes like "Roots" & "Talkin' Loud".

Close My Eyes
Incognito Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
It's time once again to take my music on the road
But first let me hold you close a while
For it's this kind of tenderness
I'm gonna need to get me through
(Baby you know how to heal my wounds)
Oh yes you do
I feel like I just cannot lose
(Just can't lose)
So wherever I am in this world
I just close my eyes and I find you
(All I got to do is close my eyes baby)
Wherever I am there you are
(All I got to do is close my eyes)
Wherever I am you will always be
We're headin' for the big one down Geneva way
We're makin' for the shorelines where everybody's come to play
Some of us are sleepin'
Others at the back just chillin'
You're on my mind and everything is alright, yeah
Baby you know how to heal my blues
Oh yes you do
With you in my life
Oh I feel like I just can't lose
(Just can't lose)
So wherever I am in this world
I just close my eyes and I find you
I'm gonna need more than a lifetime
To do all of the things that I wanna do with you, babe
Thank you for you understanding
Baby knows I got a gig to do
Wo-oh, yeah
I just close my eyes and I find you…
(All I got to do is close my eyes baby)
Wherever I am there you are
(All I got to do is close my eyes)
Wherever I am you will always be
(All I got to do is close my eyes baby)
Wherever I am there you are
(All I got to do is close my eyes)
Wherever I am you will always be
The song "Close My Eyes" by Incognito tells a story about a musician who is packing his bags and heading out on the road once again for a tour. Before he leaves, he wants to hold his loved one close to him, to feel the warmth of their embrace and gather the strength he needs to get through the tough times of being a musician on the road. He acknowledges that his partner knows how to heal his wounds, and with their presence in his life, he feels like he just cannot lose. The musician finds comfort in the fact that no matter where he is in the world, he can just close his eyes and find his loved one.
The song is rich in metaphors, symbolisms, and themes that revolve around life on the road for a musician. The opening lines of the song reflect the reality of a musician's life, constantly moving from one place to another, and experiencing different cultures and people along the way. The theme of love and a sense of belonging is evident throughout the lyrics, with the musician being grateful for his partner's unwavering support and understanding of his demanding career. The lyrics "So wherever I am in this world, I just close my eyes and I find you" highlight the fact that their love is strong enough to endure the distance and keep them connected no matter the distance.
