The Battle of Armageddon
Incubus Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Roaming souls
Prisoners of the bottomless pit
Tempting us
To be tortured in the everlasting fire
They are trying
To penetrate into your...
Religious ones
Protected by the words of Christ
Militant atheists
Destroying the ones that are unsafe
With evil powers
They are pestilenting
The human race
They are trying
To penetrate
Into your faith

Spirits of damnation
Who wander throughout the world
Trying to destroy us before Armageddon
For the ruin of our souls

Beware the Anti-christ will be here
To exterminate our religion each year
Because he knows the Son of Man is near
Don't be afraid Jesus Christ will be here
The end is near
Let?s all beware
Of the prophecies

Deads and alives shall be judged
By all holy forces
Sinners will be Satan?s wrath
For a thousand years they will regret
It?s coming so let?s all be aware
They?re trying
To penetrate
Into your faith

Spirits of damnation
Who wander throughout the world

Trying to destroy us before Armageddon
For the ruin of our souls

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Incubus's “The Battle of Armageddon” depict a spiritual warfare between those who are faithful and protected by the words of Christ and those who are lost and wandering spirits. The words “roaming souls” suggest that lost souls are the prisoners of the bottomless pit, and they are trying to tempt the faithful to be tortured in the everlasting fire. The “religious ones” are those who are protected by the words of Christ, while the “militant atheists” are those who try to destroy the people of faith with evil powers. The song warns about the Anti-Christ that tries to exterminate the religion every year knowing that the Son of Man is near.

The spirits of damnation are portrayed as wandering throughout the world trying to destroy the faithful before Armageddon for the ruin of their souls. The last verse of the song reminds the listeners that the end is near, and everyone will be judged by the holy forces. The sinners will be Satan’s wrath, and for a thousand years, they will regret their sins. Therefore, people need to be aware of the prophecies because the battle of Armageddon is coming soon.

Abechimaru Flesh

i dont care about christian or not christian band. what i know about this band is, they are great!! This album stand along with Morbid Angel's Abominations Of Desolation an Altar Of Madness, Necrophagia's Season of The Dead, Necrodeath's Into the Macabre and many more. this is a cult status album. i can sense a great mix of speed, thrash, death and black metal in "Serpent Temptation". this album is pure original!! but when they re-release it, it become suck... if you dont like it, go away!!
