But the real beginning was the song "Drogi" which appeared two years later on "Part One". It was Gutek's first album and Banach's tenth but in many ways his first as he recorded it in a way he had never before.
In 2002 a decision about making the second record was made. The first meeting after couple of years took place in much nicer surroundings - somewhere half way between Szczecin and Koszalin in the attic of the house, boarding with the forest, first song for the new album - "Mental Revolution" was born. Later "The Sign" and "The Sun" were polished although Banach got the idea for those two while in Greece.
It's a very cosmopolitan record - two Poles under Spanish-sounding name, recording Jamaican music, ideas of which were first born in France, Greece and Japan. Even if we try to place Indios Bravos' music somewhere in Poland it proofs to be very difficult. Gutek was born, grew-up and lives in Katowice. Banach on the other hand is from Szczecin and lives in Warsaw. Szczecin is also home of the musicians who make Indios Bravos - the live band because from October 2002 Indios Bravos is not just a studio project but a full band set.
The first gig was very humble. Gutek and Banach were supported on stage by Pawel Gawronski (keboard and backing vocals) and Krzysztof Sak (guitar). Later the band expanded and was joined by Ryszard Labul (bass), Przemek Filipkowski (keyboard) and Tomek Kubik (drums).

Indios Bravos Lyrics

A co wydaje się
Co ważne jest co ważnym mniej a co zupełnie nie
I nie wiem co mądrością jest
Co tylko mądrze brzmi
I kiedy znak mi daje Bóg a kiedy zwodzi zły kiedy zwodzi zły (zły)
Nie wiem
A kiedy zwodzi zły
Nie wiem nie wiem
A kiedy zwodzi zły
The lyrics of "Nie Wiem" by Indios Bravos reflect a sense of uncertainty and contemplation about what is true and what only appears to be true. The singer expresses confusion about distinguishing between reality and illusion, between what is important and what is less significant. They ponder the essence of wisdom and question when a sign is truly from God or when it may be deceitful, emphasizing their lack of clarity and understanding in such matters.
The song delves into the dilemma of discerning noble qualities from superficial ones, highlighting that not everything that shines brightly is inherently valuable. The lyrics draw a contrast between things that are as strong as steel but are corroded by rust, symbolizing the impermanence and fragility of material possessions or external appearances. This introspection suggests a deeper reflection on the nature of inner strength and resilience amidst external challenges and decay.
Continuing the theme of uncertainty, the song explores the concept of righteousness and the dilemma between the pursuit of personal fulfillment and the importance of ethical behavior. The singer is unsure whether it is better to focus on being virtuous or having material possessions, reflecting on the complexities of making moral choices in a world filled with conflicting values and desires. The lyrics express a sense of inner conflict and indecision regarding what actions to take and what values to prioritize in the quest for a meaningful and fulfilling life.
The repeated refrain "A czego mam się strzec nie wiem" encapsulates the overarching sense of ambiguity and confusion that permeates the song. It emphasizes the singer's admission of not knowing what dangers or pitfalls to avoid, underscoring their vulnerability and sense of disorientation in navigating life's uncertainties. The lyrics convey a poignant reflection on the human condition, acknowledging the constant state of questioning and doubt that accompanies the pursuit of truth, virtue, and wisdom in a complex and ever-changing world.
