The reggae group Inner Circle was formed in 1968 by the brothers Ian and Roger Lewis in Jamaica. At first they covered soul and R&B hits from the United States, and then also a few reggae songs, predominantly from Bob Marley.
The band released two albums as The Inner Circle in 1974 for jamaican label "Starapple"(and they were distributed by "Trojan" in UK), and resigned to Capitol Records in 1976, and Island Records(where the internationally successful album "Everything Is Great" originated. This album reached top 20 in the UK and preceded their other chart success by some years) in 1979.
Inner Circle was decidedly influenced through the original member Jacob Miller, the frontman and lead singer who was killed in a car crash on March 23, 1980. At the end of the 1970s Inner Circle with Jacob "Killer" Miller was more popular in Jamaica than Bob Marley. The band also appeared in the reggae cult film Rockers in 1978.
After the loss of Jacob Miller, Inner Circle broke up, but in 1982 another album called Something So Good was released. In 1986 Ian and Roger Lewis reestablished Inner Circle with the singer Carlton Coffie, and the band experienced a comeback with the album Black Roses.
In 1989, Inner Circle released the song "Bad Boys." Since then, the band calls itself "The Bad Boys of Reggae". They had another big hit with the 1993 song "Sweat (A La La La La Long)."
The lead singer Carlton Coffie was ill for a long period in 1995 and decided after his recuperation to start a solo career. The current singer Kris Bentley took his place.

24-7 365 staying away from war & strife
24-7 365 reggae music a bubble in me
24-7 365 come to set the world free
In our quest to reach our gold
Many a stories we've been told
Traveled the world seen with our eyes
It's no secret to our madness
Who'd believe Natty Dread rides again
Labor of love gift from above
Standing right before your eyes
Takes a strong man like you and me
To unite this reggae symphony
Music we give that's the life we
Live,once a dream now a reality
The song "24-7-365" by Inner Circle is all about the Rastafarian way of life, which is embodied by the singer's "natty dreadlocks," staying away from war and strife, and listening to reggae music. The lyrics are all about escaping the chaos of the world and finding solace in reggae music as a way to "set the world free." The singer describes the strength it takes to "unite this reggae symphony," and how music is not just a dream but a reality.
The chorus of the song repeats the phrase "24-7-365," which stands for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year. The use of this phrase emphasizes the singer's commitment to the Rastafarian way of life, as it is a lifestyle that is practiced constantly and consistently. The song is also autobiographical, as it describes the band's experiences of traveling the world and seeing different cultures.
The song combines elements of reggae and rock music to create a unique sound, and the lyrics are meant to instill a feeling of hope and unity in the listener. Overall, "24-7-365" is a celebration of the Rastafarian way of life and a call to unite through music.
