Innocens Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

What the hell kind could we be
While the creature sleeps in me
Hurt them all
But never cried for all my life

It was pain to learn again to open heart
But we forgot to play
Can remember but a face
Just some movements like a race
Gotta nothing gotta me
with all my love

Be sorry for oneself and justify
But never understand

We share the same real
You can't put it down
This story's not real
You can't leave behind

We live the same dream
You can't put it down
Well all's just a fear
And image of mine

Sweep all traces and forgot
Who you were and what you got
Now the creature awakes
And seeks the prey and blood

Be sorry for oneself and justify
But don't forget to play

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Innocens's song Image are introspective and emotional. The first few lines contemplate what kind of person the singer and others could possibly be, while acknowledging that everyone has a dark side or "creature" within them. The singer seems to have hurt others throughout their life but has never cried about it, suggesting a lack of empathy or emotional connection. The second stanza discusses the difficulty of learning to open one's heart again after being hurt, but that the singer has forgotten how to "play" or fully experience life. The third stanza hints at some sort of loss or regret, as the singer can only remember a face and movement "like a race". They also seem to have nothing left ("gotta nothing gotta me") despite having loved someone. The fourth stanza once again brings up the theme of justifying one's actions but not truly understanding them. Finally, the chorus suggests that we all share the same reality and dreams, but that fear and an image of ourselves can hold us back.

Overall, the lyrics explore the darker side of human nature, including hurt, regret, and self-justification. The theme of forgetting to "play" or fully experience life is also present, suggesting a sense of emptiness or lack of fulfillment.

@Kitcat Alot of the things you say are frankly not true and the data shows.
Most murderers did not work as cops , they mainly worked in other civil jobs and when they did work and if they changed jobs in correspondance with their homicidal tendacies , it was mainly transport jobs.
Furthermore in jobs that have the most amount of pyschopatic behavior ( which isn't nessecary homicidal ) , police officers rank number 7 and above them are :
CEO or business executive
Lawyer
Media personality
Salesperson
Surgeon
Journalist or news anchor
Also the exception isn't the majority , there are 17,000 homicides in the US every year , if every murderer worked as a cop ( there are 700,000 cops ) that would mean 2.349% of the police force are murderers , which would mean 1 out of every 41 cops would be a murderer and thats if all murderers were once cops.
I dunno why the US has such a anti-cop mentality when American police brutality is childs play compared to police brutality in Asia , Africa and even Eastern Europe , yet cops are still respected in these regions , maybe because the exception isn't the majority.

I like how Shrouded Hand isn't afraid of taking the piss out of himself a little. It adds a little levity that is sorely missing from a lot of other morbid content YouTubers.
