End the Cruelty
Insight Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
It's time we woke up and thought about it
It's not natural and that's a fact
So let reach out don't turn our backs
IT'S TIME to face the facts
THIS TIME- END THE CRUELTY
And society's so selfish we can't stop it
How can compassion for animals be denied
When it's them who give up their lives?
IT'S TIME to face the facts
THIS TIME- END THE CRUELTY
END THE CRUELTY NOW!
Insight's song "End the Cruelty" is a passionate appeal to society to put an end to the rampant killing of animals. The first phrase, "An animal dies every day and every minute," sets a grim tone, emphasizing the staggering number of animals that perish as a result of human intervention. The second line, "It's time we woke up and thought about it," prompts a call to action, encouraging individuals to raise their voices and take a stand against animal cruelty. The third line, "It's not natural and that's a fact," seeks to establish the argument that people cannot justify the killing of animals as a natural occurrence because it is solely caused by human behavior.
The fourth line, "So let's reach out don't turn our backs," serves as an appeal to human empathy and an invitation to take responsibility to protect and care for animals. The first "IT'S TIME" repetition drives home the urgency of the situation and demands immediate attention towards the issue at hand. The line "THIS TIME- END THE CRUELTY," serves as a plea to end the torture and suffering that animals face daily.
The second verse of the song picks up where the first verse left off and highlights society's indifference towards animal cruelty. The line, "An issue which society has overlooked," mourns the fact that people do not give enough significance to animal rights activism. The second line, "And society's so selfish we can't stop it," is a commentary on how self-absorbed the society can be, causing individuals to turn a blind eye towards animal abuse. The third line, "How can compassion for animals be denied?" points out the absurdity of denying animals mercy and kindness, despite knowing they suffer. Finally, the last line, "When it's them who give up their lives?" highlights the sacrifice that these animals make, shedding light on their plight.
Insight's "End the Cruelty" is a necessary and powerful statement that demands a call to action. The lyrics encourage people to recognize the atrocities committed against animals and take action to bring change. The song is a call for compassion and acknowledges the urgent need for a shift in attitudes towards animal welfare.
