Planet Earth
Insipid Brown Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
On a cloudy day
Thinking about the sun and the moon and forever
I see the girl I know
I love she writes the most beautiful lines
I know, but she won't write one for me
I'm not really sad
I'm feeling right up indifferent
It's a cloudy day but it isn't raining
Wonder why she's not complaining
It's a cloudy day
And she dances under the tress and in the fields
Dancing like she's forever under the sun
Feeling good
Living loving life is her's
No one can take it away
You can try
The spirit will still be there terrying
Forever under the sun
Why don't I dance?
Why am I lying in the grass?
It's a cloudy day but it isn't raining
Wonder why she's not complaining
(chorus)
Thinking about the stars
And why people say they look like they are
Sinking about the moon
It's forever under the sun
Thinking about the sun
Why isn't it dancing
Maybe it's always dancing, laughing and smiling
Just like my dancer dancing nude
Does the fiddler dance?
What about the piper yeah
It's a cloudy day but it isn't raining
Wonder why she's not complaining
When she singing I
Can find her somewhere
Hot in another gleaming stone
Thinking about life and logic
Playing nonsense on a guitar
Feeling good
Feeling good
Feeling good
The song "Planet Earth" by Insipid Brown describes a moment of reflection on a cloudy day, lying on the grass and thinking about the sun, the moon, forever, and the beauty of life. The singer sees a girl he knows standing over him, who writes the most beautiful lines but won't write one for him. He ponders why he is lying on the grass instead of dancing like the girl, enjoying life and living it to the fullest. The chorus is a reflection on the stars, the moon, and the sun, wondering if they dance, laugh, and smile just like the people on Earth do.
The lyrics of the song capture a feeling of introspection and wonder about life and the universe, and the contrast between the singer's mood and the girl's dancing creates a sense of longing and regret. The mention of the girl's beautiful lines and the singer's inability to get one for himself may suggest a deeper meaning about unrequited love or unfulfilled aspirations, adding an extra layer of poignancy to the song.

"Howard The Duck" cast members
after the film--
Lea Thompson was
one of the stars
of 2 additional
"Back To The Future" movies,
then starred in
a successful sitcom
for several years.
Tim Robbins was in
many films afterwards
(including one of my favorites,
"Short Cuts")
& even became
an Oscar winning director.
Jeffrey Jones appeared in
tons of movies afterwards,
including "Stay Tuned" & "Ed Wood",
among many others.

For Fant4stic, yes Trank was inexperienced, but even that paled in comparison to the constant interference of the studio. They brought Trenq onboard claiming they wanted a dark, mature superhero movie. As they saw more and more dailies, however, they ordered him to cut things WAY back - and yet didn't allow almost any reshoots, despite filming being more than half done... they had to shoehorn their footage from a low R to a PG-13, and they really wanted it to be as tame a PG-13 as possible. That doesn't just happen without seriously altering the end product. I mean, imagine trying to remake Neon Genesis Evangelion and End of Evangelion for Disney Junior, or maybe 50 Shades of Gray.
Trenq isn't a master whose majestic magnum opus was cut down, but his issues were only one source of problems in a very troubled production. There were rumored to be multiple issues with actors as well.
The whole thing was cursed, and I feel like the closest you could come to pointing fingers at anyone in particular would probably be gesticulating vaguely towards anyone at 20th Century Fox who was directly involved in the project, but even then I feel like some of them were probably put onto the production team midway through and were just trying to keep everything from capsizing. Honestly, the film had promise at some point, and I feel like you can still pick up some threads of that in the final product. Only, the story that pursued those threads was turned down by Fox, and something else had to be jury-rigged to work with as much of the already-shot footage as possible.
Very rarely is a fuckup on this scale the fault of one man. Like an overloaded septic pumper truck dropped into the engine of a Lockheed C-5 Galaxy, the whole thing was awful and nobody walked away without getting covered in shit.
On an unrelated note, North 2: Norm of the North. North goes into animation and this is his masterpiece.
Alone in the Dark: he has allies with him, and everything is illuminated because it's all on fire!
