After Hours
Interface Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Sometimes I wonder
Have I come undone?
And if I went astray
Where did I go wrong?

Sometimes I wonder
If I can still remember
Everything that happened
And everything that didn’t

Sometimes I wonder
If still I feel anything at all
For anyone
Anywhere

I’m slowly fading

I’m dissipating
I’m slowly drifting away

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Interface's song "After Hours" explore themes of reflection, uncertainty, and dissociation. The first verse begins with the singer expressing a sense of confusion and questioning whether they have "come undone." This could be interpreted as an allusion to losing one's sense of self or identity. The second line of the verse furthers this sense of detachment by asking where the singer may have gone wrong if they have lost their way.

The chorus continues with the theme of uncertainty, as the singer questions whether they can still remember everything that has happened in their life, as well as everything that has not. The repetition of the opening line "Sometimes I wonder" establishes a sense of introspection and self-doubt that pervades the entire song.

The second verse delves even deeper into the singer's sense of detachment, asking whether they still feel anything for anyone or anywhere. This line suggests that the singer has reached a level of resignation or apathy towards their surroundings. The use of the present tense in this line emphasizes this sense of stasis, suggesting that this detachment is ongoing rather than a temporary feeling.

The final line of the chorus, "I’m slowly fading/I’m dissipating/I’m slowly drifting away," adds a sense of finality to the song's themes of uncertainty and detachment. The repetition of "I'm slowly" emphasizes the gradual nature of this dissociation, creating a sense of inevitability to the song's conclusion.

I have always found Interface to be incredibly sad. The origins of everything in this outer-worldly and depressing, a great series to watch when your of sound mental health lmao

Coward

we be stretching the definition of "analog"

Phrax

Umami’s series SAFE MODE is a sequel to Interface, by the way.

Might be running out of analog horror stuff at this point, the only one that comes to mind now is CH/SS. One of the oldest analog horror series out there.

Could start looking into digital horror, it works similarly to analog but is more based on early internet nostalgia like old Gmod and long gone animation sites. Gunslingerpro2009 would be a good place to start with that, there's only a few videos but they're mostly in the style of 2000s machinima days.

If you just want weird fucking shit, there's the youtube channel that just called "dad" first season is about 3 acts totaling at nearly 4 hours(has that David Lynch feel). For animations there's Cyriak(made a lot of Adult Swim channel bumps), Gooseworks(*Thalasin* animator) and Felix Colgrave(*Double King* creator).

Idk how you feel about analog weirdness that's advertisement for a museum but there's always the OmegaMart videos on the Meow Wolf YT channel

I enjoy a lot of your reactions but it’s really frustrating how often you just look away from what you’re watching and miss key elements

Soooo like in regards to the backrooms stuff, I've seen some that I guess have a kinda story to them I think? As much as what you'd get exploring endless halls of yellow/green walls and carpeted flooring with some weird thing chasing you near the end. "A-synch Research"? the 'story' stuff doesn't seem to kick in till the later half of the uploads but I get similar feels to watching the Kane stuff.

YES I LOVE INTERFACE!

StrangelyStillhere

Can you do a bit on omega mart? It’s more of a interface vibe then horror and is much shorter
