Questions
Intro5pect Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I raise my hand cause
I've got another question
Teacher can you tell me
Why the cops harass me
When I only wanted their protection

Why do I have to work for the rest of my life
Face to the grind, at a job I never liked
Who created this convention?

[Chorus:]
Take it all back, turn it around
The medium is the message
And it's more than just
Sound

Take it all back, turn it around

I raise my hand 'cause I'm still confused
Never understood why we still make use
Of a system that's founded upon greed

You can explain away but I can't believe
I'll never agree with the way that you see
'Cause its leaving people sleeping in the streets

[Chorus:]

Winds of charge are blowing
Harder than you've ever seen before
They're pushing and they're pulling
Straight to the company door
It's like a blank page under white light
The contrast is so high, it's like day versus night
It's so easy to follow when it's all so clear
Outline is set and the deadline is here

[Chorus:]

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of "Questions" by Intro5pect express the feelings of frustration and confusion that the singer experiences in society. In the first verse, the singer addresses a teacher and asks why police officers harass them even though they only seek protection. This could be interpreted as a criticism of the way law enforcement often discriminates against marginalized individuals. In the second verse, the singer questions why they have to work in jobs they dislike for their entire life, pointing out the flaws in a convention that encourages people to prioritize work over their passions. The chorus makes an appeal to "take it all back, turn it around," suggesting a desire for change and a new perspective on how we live our lives.

The lyrics are also critical of the capitalist system, as seen in the line "Of a system that's founded upon greed." The singer seems to be disillusioned with the idea that profit takes precedence over people's well-being, which is reflected in the increasing number of people sleeping on the streets. The final verse refers to a "blank page under white light," which can be seen as a metaphor for the system being stripped down to its essential components. The singer suggests that we can easily follow a clear outline, but we must be aware of the contrast between the unfair system and what is right and just.

Thanks for the video! Almost done with one of your books and can't wait to start another! But back to the subject at hand!! FUN! I believe that Fun needs to be added back into the workplace. People don't even want you to laugh at work anymore because they assume no works getting done. All work no play is the reason some people end up so unhappy in life. All work no play causes a lot of people to be lonely! I work a stressful job and have learned that self care is just as important as going to work everyday! If I don't participate in something fun and fulfilling every weekend I cannot function well at work all week! It's just how my body is set up now days! I value my happiness and try very hard to keep myself happy especially now that I am single and do not have a special companion to share my adventures with it is even more important for me to make sure I have some fun so I don't get myself in a funk wishing I had a special companion!

Very insightful... I was thinking the same thing the other day.. I've been taking things too seriously in my life which has made me really stressed out and burnt out and I'm only 22!! But now I'm all fun :) well I'm slowly incorporating my fun outgoing side back into my life :)

Thanks for the vids!

I feel you, I personally need to have more fun in my work life and relationships

Hey Sylvester.
I'm 19 and a double major in college. Having so many classes I have to schedule things in advanced. If what I scheduled is not completed, I feel like I need to finish that before I should have fun. I have to schedule fun events, but when I am doing them I am still thinking about the things that I need to do. What are some things you think may help me with having more fun ?

+Nia.nderthal don't schedule out your whole life. Take more time to stay in the present moment. Consider the art of being spontaneous.

it's important to know that there is a time for work and a time for play....if you look at the nature of other creatures they work and then play...It's part of our natural state as we are also part of creation...live, learn, grow and laugh...for laughter is good for the soul...have fun...don't be too serious for that is how you miss out on life...have an outlet...give your companions room to breathe so that they can appreciate you more ....have a few good positive friends with a big emphasis on positive😁.
