Intronaut Lyrics

The sound fills our ears
This moment resonates
A taste of our ill-fated destination
The night goes black
For fear of the light we see
Headed our way, never to arrive
Smoke without mirrors
Stubborn silence in the dark
And in the wake of it's gradual lift,
All but clarity to behold
So it goes
The song "Above" by Intronaut is a powerful and mysterious commentary on the fragility of life and the inevitability of death. The opening lines set the tone for the whole song, as the singer describes looking up at the sky and hearing a sound that echoes around them. This moment is significant and will resonate with the listener throughout the rest of the song. The lyrics suggest that this sound is a harbinger of something ominous, a symbol of the ill-fated end that awaits all of us.
The second verse adds to this sense of foreboding, as the singer describes the darkness of the night and the fear that it brings. There is a sense of hiding from the light, as if trying to avoid the inevitable arrival of some terrible event. The lines "headed our way, never to arrive" further emphasize the feeling of dread that permeates the song. As the smoke clears, the singer sees the clarity that remains, a reminder of the finality of life.

Headed our way, never to arrive
Something is coming towards us but it will never reach us
Smoke without mirrors
There's smoke, but no mirrors to reflect it
Stubborn silence in the dark
Silence prevails even in the darkness
And in the wake of it's gradual lift,
As the smoke gradually dissipates,
All but clarity to behold

So it goes
This is just the way things happen
