Blame
Intwine Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Will I go on, living this lie
Feels like we're lost in time
With memories best left behind
You don't need to say
This torment caused can't be explained
You don't deserve this pain
Not who I was
You don't know me anymore
Come and treat me like a whore
don't you know youre to precious
To deal with this pain
And Im to blame
Please don't say what's on your mind
There's no real truth to find
If we only knew how to deal
With what I do
You'll find another way to wake and live
A brighter day
You don't deserve this pain not who I was
Sorry I've changed
The lyrics of Intwine's song "Blame" delve into the complexities of self-discovery and the repercussions of personal evolution. The singer is grappling with the decision to continue living a lie or embracing their true self, and in turn, causing pain to those around them. The lines "Feels like we're lost in time, with memories best left behind" mirror the singer's hesitation to let go of their past and the belief that moving forward will result in pain and uncertainty.
The chorus is particularly vivid in describing the singer's internal conflict and how it impacts their relationships. The line "You don't know me anymore, come and treat me like a whore" reflects how the singer feels disconnected from their loved ones, as they struggle to reconcile their past selves with their present identity. The guilt and shame they feel are palpable in lines like "Please don't say what's on your mind, there's no real truth to find" as the singer dreads the repercussions of their actions but feels powerless to stop them.
Overall, "Blame" is a poignant exploration of the multifaceted nature of self-discovery and its impact on ourselves and others. It's a reminder that growth can be painful, but ultimately necessary for us to live authentically.
