Let Me Be
Intwine Lyrics

Much to say
What you're searching for
Is fading away
And I don't know if I'll be back again
And I don't know if things will be the same
And she asked me to hold her
One last time as I told her
Waiting is a game, blame me for making someone play by the rules
And I don't know if I'll find my way
Back to where I belong and maybe stay
As she cried on my shoulder
And she asked me to hold her
One last time as I told her
Let me be
Everyday as I think about you
Wishing up on a star
Wishing I wasn't so far
I got myself thinking if I did it right
Should I stay one more night
Should I go, should I stay, let it go
Should it be my own run
And walk the other way
And I don't know if I'll be back again
So I do hope you'll be there in the end
As she cried on my shoulder
And she asked me to hold her
One last time as I told her
Let me be
As she cried on my shoulder
And she asked me to hold her
One last time as I told her
Let me be
The lyrics to Intwine's "Let Me Be" tell the story of a relationship that's falling apart. The singer is uncertain about whether or not he'll return and if things will ever be the same. The girl he's with is crying on his shoulder, asking him to hold her one last time. The singer tells her that waiting is a game and that she can blame him for making her play by the rules. He's unsure about whether or not he made the right decision by walking away and is contemplating whether or not he should stay or go. Ultimately, he tells her to let him be and walks away.
The lyrics are open to interpretation, but they seem to be about a relationship that has run its course. The singer is struggling to figure out what he wants and is torn between staying and leaving. He knows that the relationship is fading away, but he's not sure if he should fight for it or let it go. The girl is asking him to hold her one last time, but he knows that it's time to walk away. He tells her to let him be because he needs time to figure out what he wants.
Overall, "Let Me Be" is a poignant song about the difficulties of relationships and the struggle to find oneself. It's a powerful reminder that sometimes, the best thing we can do is walk away and let things be.
