1) INU is a Punk/New Wave band from Osaka, Japan.
The band were active 1979 - 1981.
INU released their debut album "Meshi Kuuna!" (literally "Don't eat food!") in 1981. The band split shortly after the album release. "Meshi Kuuna!" is the band's only studio album. Although numerous badly recorded live albums were released on LP.
Machida Kou (町田 康) the frontman of INU went on to form a number of other bands and released several albums. His albums earned reasonable critical acclaims but the commercial success was limited.
Machida Kou is also an award winning author he won the 123rd Akutagawa Prize with Kiregire ("Shreds") in 2000 and the Tanizaki Prize with Kokuhaku ("Confession") in 2005. He also has a novel of the same name as an INU song, Tsurutsuru-no Tsubo (つるつるの壺).
2) Inu (e-nu) is a new band featuring San Francisco based producer Count (Halou, Radiohead, DJ Shadow, New Order, Galactic, Frank Sinatra), Zoe Keating (Rasuptina, Imogen Heap, Dresden Dolls) and Tim Hingston (Nyles Lannon). 'Not For Anyone' is their debut full length album available June 29 2010. Skillfully melding rock, abstract sound collage, synths, and noise, the collection of songs that make up 'Not For Anyone' nod in the direction of classic alternative artists while side-stepping any sense of cliche. Ultimately what is revealed - both vocally and through the layered guitars and bombastic percussion - is something fresh, striking and uniquely, Inu.

Fade Out
Inu Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
The song "Fade Out" by Inu features lyrics that delve deep into a sense of hopelessness and frustration in modern life. The opening lines, "Ambiguous desires, only possessing ambiguous desires / Can't handle these ambiguous desires," set the tone for the rest of the song. The singer is stuck in a cycle of apathy, unable to escape the monotony of their life. They spend their days in front of the television, unable to break free from its hold.
The chorus, "Your body fades out, disappears into oblivion / Your body fades out, disappears into oblivion," is a reflection of the singer's own sense of insignificance. They feel like they are slowly slipping away, disappearing from the world. The second verse reflects on the unchanging nature of life, with each day feeling like a continuation of the one before. The singer is too caught up in the mundane details of their daily life to make any meaningful changes.
The final verse is perhaps the most telling, as it suggests that the only way to find peace is through death. "To soothe my irritation, the only option is to peacefully fade out / Your body fades out, disappears into oblivion." This line is both chilling and poignant, highlighting the desperation of the singer. They are unable to find any sense of purpose or meaning in their existence and instead long for the release of death.
Overall, "Fade Out" is a powerful and evocative song that captures the sense of hopelessness that can come with modern life. It is a poignant reminder of the importance of finding meaning and purpose in our daily lives.

Don’t know how there aren’t more English comments, this album is a masterpiece and way ahead of its time. Thanks to Hosono, Sakamoto, and Takahashi, I’ve delved into a world many non-Japanese people aren’t aware of and am so happy I have!
