1. Inure is an active industrial band that was formed in the summer of 1999, shortly after its founding members Adam Moore and Robert Vogel arrived in Los Angeles. With similar musical influences and tastes in production, the duo sought out to create a sound reminiscent of the "golden era" of industrial dance music, injected with their unique and updated ideas of where they'd like to hear the genre move. With Adam's formal training in Audio Production at the Art Institute of Seattle, and Rob's lengthy programming and musical experience, the two easily began sculpting what became their debut album, "Seemless". Layered with heavy beats, driving basslines, and thick atmospheres, Inure managed to capture exactly what they were looking for – the depth and feel of classic industrial, with forward-thinking production and sound design. After the collapse of their label (Dying Culture) the duo continued performing live shows and officially welcomed Sam P. (PULSE LEGION, IMPERATIVE REACTION) as a permanent 3rd member of Inure. With months of dedicated studio work, the trio's second album Subversive is ready for release on Alfa Matrix in early 2006. Produced by Ted Phelps (IMPERATIVE REACTION), Inure's new material has been kicked up a notch, while still maintaining their trademark sound; Dark, malevolent, heavy and layered, with even more straight-forward imaginative synthwork and punchy beats. With the help of Alfa Matrix, Inure will prove to be a major force and fusing their own sound into the evolution of the electro / industrial genre.
2. Inure was a crusty metal band from Baltimore, MD that played from around 1999-2005, recorded an LP in 2002, broke up, reformed and finally called it quits. Members went on to form the doom/sludge band Moonshine and were also involved in Wake Up On Fire and 57 Octaves Below. Their self-titled LP was finally released in August 2006 by Ministry of Peace Records.

Rapture
Inure Lyrics

And ones that shouldn't have
Wash the stains of time with excess
Bloodied from the past
I empty out the reason and fill it with discord
Whatever she bestowed in me
Has left me wanting more
Can I taste the rapture?
This bittersweet content
Fleeting moments had inside
Are now just floating in my head
Can you feel the fire
This aching to consume
The smell of the devoured
Is filling up the room
Rescue me, I ask you as
I'm choking on myself
I felt it passing through me
As you reached up to the shelf
Where the things kept are a mystery
Wrapped up inside some death
Awakened by the filling up
And drawing of my breath
Can I taste the rapture?
This bittersweet content
Fleeting moments had inside
Are now just floating in my head
Can you feel the fire
This aching to consume
The smell of the devoured
Is filling up the room
Am I as I've always been?
How am I to know?
Is it too late or too soon
For something new to grow
As I wait in silence for it to unfold
Time will make the consequence
To tighten or lose its hold
The lyrics of "Rapture" by Inure are about reflecting on the past and contemplating whether one can still experience the overwhelming joy of rapture. The singer thinks about both the things they regret and the ones they might have missed out on. The lyrics talk about the difficulty of letting go of the past, with lines like "Wash the stains of time with excess" and "Bloodied from the past." The singer feels incomplete and discontented, and they are searching for something that will make them feel alive again.
The chorus speaks more directly to the idea of rapture, with the singer asking if they can taste it and if the fire of passion is still within them. There is a sense of desperation in the song, with lines like "Rescue me, I ask you as/I'm choking on myself." The song ends with the singer recognizing that time will tell if they can move forward and if they can find something that will give them the release they are searching for.
Overall, "Rapture" deals with universal themes of regret, risk, and the search for contentment. The lyrics are metaphorical and poetic, but they are also relatable to anyone who has ever looked back on their life and wished they had done things differently. The music itself reflects this feeling of longing and tension, with heavy, foreboding electronic beats that build to a powerful crescendo.
