Ira! was formed in 1981, by Nasi, Scandurra, Fábio Scattone (drums) and Adilson Fajardo (bass). But its final formation was only reached in 1985, when Ricardo Gaspa and André Jung (former member of fellow brazilian band Titãs) joined the band.
Their songs were strongly influenced by the Mod sound of The Who, the hard rock of Led Zeppelin and the punk rock of The Clash.
After making it big in the 80s, Ira! faded away in the 90s, regained some popularity in the 00s and eventually split in 2007, making it's comeback only in 2014, with a new formation that stays to this day: Nasi, Edgard Scandurra, Evaristo Pádua, and Johnny Boy
Telefone
Ira! Lyrics

Pra falar coisas que só a gente entende
São três horas da manhã, você me chama
Com seu papo poesia me transcende
Oh meu amor
Isso é amor
Oh meu amor
Oh meu amor
Isso é amor
Oh meu amor
Isso é amor
The lyrics to Ira!'s song Telefone speak to the power of love and communication, even when distance separates those involved. The song begins with a phone call at three in the morning, with the lyrics suggesting that the conversation is filled with messages that only the two parties on the line can truly understand. The talk seems to be filled with poetic language that transcends the mundane.
The chorus emphasizes the idea that the connection between the two people is love. The repetition of "Oh meu amor/Isso é amor" drives home the point that this is a deep and significant emotion that exists between them. The second verse emphasizes the importance of communication, with the singer telling the other person to speak loudly and not worry about who might be listening in. The idea that distance cannot sever the love between them is also emphasized, with the song suggesting that love can exist between people regardless of where they are located.
Overall, the song Telefone is a powerful tribute to love and the power of communication. It emphasizes the idea that love is a force that can transcend distance and that communication is key to keeping love alive.
