Los piratas
Iratxo Lyrics

The lyrics of Iratxo's song Los piratas describe a group of pirates who have disappeared from the singer's fish tank. These pirates were always dreaming of clean water and requesting a bit of rum to drink. However, they have now sold out to the firm sand on the bottom of the tank, as well as paper and smiles, revealing their flag on cardboard boats and burning any residual items from their revolution. The pirates are described as being without a peg leg, eye patches, bad intentions, ships, beards, swords or any desire to acquire them, and they are now just grazing the glass of the fish tank watching the world go by. They left the singer's fish tank and embarked on a journey into the sea, leaving Vallecas deep and free, regaling their hat anywhere they pleased. They have said goodbye to the skull and crossed bones, taking their food and sunshine with them, but forgetting their suitcases and sailing towards new adventures, hoping to be born anew.
The lyrics of Los piratas by Iratxo can be interpreted as an allegory for human life. The pirates in the fish tank are a metaphor for how people can become stuck in one place, dreaming of something better and looking for ways to escape and find new opportunities. The sand and paper that the pirates sell their freedom for are symbolic of human values and material possessions, which can cause people to abandon their true desires and seek after worldly success. The call for unity and positivity at the end of the song is a powerful message of hope to approach life in a way that is free from negativity and animosity.
