Timecop
Iron Chic Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
No care for the sand in the hourglass
Each new night was another shot
To stake our claim on a parking lot
Remember when friends we're all we'd need?
Day followed the night and we'd let it lead
In the basement
On the pavement
But it's not like that anymore
Re-group, re-calculate
Rushing in was our first mistake
Re-think, re-calibrate
Set our sights on something bigger
(Maybe move on to better things)
Remember the pain of growing up?
It may have hurt but it sure was fun
It made us who we are now
It gave us a mystery to figure out
This is what we waited for
These days not much has changed
Except how we feel and what's at stake
But we are still the same
Should we chose to linger
Or move on to better things
The song "Timecop" by Iron Chic is an introspective look at the past and a call for change in the present. The opening lines, "Remember when time was all we had? / No care for the sand in the hourglass" reminisce about a time when the future seemed limitless and carefree. The lyrics then transition into a reflection on the importance of friendships and the experiences shared in the past, "Remember when friends we're all we'd need? / Day followed the night and we'd let it lead."
However, the song's chorus suggests that the band recognizes the need for growth and change despite the comfort of nostalgia: "Re-group, re-calculate / Rushing in was our first mistake / Re-think, re-calibrate / Set our sights on something bigger / (Maybe move on to better things)." The lyrics highlight the importance of self-reflection and reevaluation in order to move forward and achieve greater things.
Ultimately, "Timecop" is a reminder that while change and growth may be painful, they are necessary for personal development and the pursuit of new goals.

I like that song, but I just wanted to point out that:
"remember when friends we're all we'd need?"
correct would be "were" insted of "we're", we're = we are :)

And correct would be "Correct" instead of correct, new sentence = capitalization. As well, instead is actually spelled with an "a" instead of just an "e." <\'..'/>

and doesn’t the vocalist say: “this is what WE’VE waited for” ??
