The year 2000 saw the release of Iron Fire's debut album, 'Thunderstorm' , which received rave reviews. The band's sophmore effort, 'On the Edge' (2001), was not viewed as the bands best work by critics. The band has never had a stable line-up, with multiple changes coming from 2001 - 2006. March 2006 saw the return of Iron Fire with their third studio album 'Revenge' (from Napalm Records). The two albums after that, 'Blade of Triumph' (2007) and 'To the Grave' (2009), went on to receive good reviews by critics. They also marked what can be called the band's viking trilogy.
After an album 'Metalmorphosized' (2010), which contained reworked versions of left-over material from then bands' first decade, they released 'Voyage of the Damned' (2012). It marked a turn towards sci-fi themed lyrics and artwork while also containing more keyboards, without losing the heavyness. A video clip was shot for the single Leviathan.
In 2014 the band released a stand alone single 'A Token of My Hatred' (Virgin Steele cover) on Crime Records, Also on Crime Records the band released 'Among the Dead' (2016), which is probably the heaviest Iron Fire album to date.
Until the End
Iron Fire Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Of many broken swords
Lord of thunder
Take them higher
The resurrection of the evil majesty
Flying on winds of fire
Through the holy land
To the gates of hell
To the devil in disguise
Ride into the sky
Where the eagles fly
'Cause I will never die
Break down and cry
Yes I will prevent
From heaven Ill descend
And I will defend
Never repent
I'll fight until the end
The scream from the darkness
Still goes on and on
It nearly drives me insane
Shadow of the black moon
Appears in the sky
The fear is running through my veins
Through the holy land
With danger in the eyes
To the gates of hell
To the devil in disguise
Ride into the sky
Where the eagles fly
'Cause I will never die
Break down and cry
Yes I will prevent
From heaven Ill descend
And I will defend
Never repent
I'll fight until the end
The lyrics to Iron Fire's song Until The End highlight the theme of never giving up and fighting until the very end. The opening lines paint a picture of a dark and chaotic world, where broken swords scatter the ground as the singer rides through the ashes. The Lord of Thunder is invoked, ushering in a sense of power and strength, as the rider prepares for battle. Moving on to the next verse, we see the resurrection of an evil majesty, and the singer takes flight on winds of fire. Here, we see a battle fought through challenging terrain, the "holy land," where danger is omnipresent. Despite the foreboding atmosphere, the singer charges on, determined to reach the gates of hell and confront the devil in disguise. The chorus talks of an unbreakable spirit that refuses to back down, immortally protecting loved ones and fighting until the end.
The second stanza builds on the previous, acknowledging a scream from the darkness that nearly drives the singer insane. Shadowy images of the black moon loom overhead, and fear runs through the rider's veins. However, the singer's determination never falters, determined to ride into the sky like an eagle, never breaking down or crying. Again, the rider reiterates their vow to prevent harm to their loved ones, defending them until the end, with no hint of ever repenting.
Overall, the song is both powerful and uplifting, with lyrics that inspire listeners to push past their fears and persevere in the face of adversity. It highlights the importance of fighting for what you believe in and never backing down, no matter how challenging the circumstances may seem.
