The year 2000 saw the release of Iron Fire's debut album, 'Thunderstorm' , which received rave reviews. The band's sophmore effort, 'On the Edge' (2001), was not viewed as the bands best work by critics. The band has never had a stable line-up, with multiple changes coming from 2001 - 2006. March 2006 saw the return of Iron Fire with their third studio album 'Revenge' (from Napalm Records). The two albums after that, 'Blade of Triumph' (2007) and 'To the Grave' (2009), went on to receive good reviews by critics. They also marked what can be called the band's viking trilogy.
After an album 'Metalmorphosized' (2010), which contained reworked versions of left-over material from then bands' first decade, they released 'Voyage of the Damned' (2012). It marked a turn towards sci-fi themed lyrics and artwork while also containing more keyboards, without losing the heavyness. A video clip was shot for the single Leviathan.
In 2014 the band released a stand alone single 'A Token of My Hatred' (Virgin Steele cover) on Crime Records, Also on Crime Records the band released 'Among the Dead' (2016), which is probably the heaviest Iron Fire album to date.
Wanted Man
Iron Fire Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
He rides into the horizon and disappears
Like a ghost in the night
Like a shadow without a place to find some peace
He's on the run
He is a real son of a gun
But there's no turning back
He's a wanted man
A long way from home
He's a wanted man
His name is Young Blood
On a trail to the shady land
And he's hunted by the lawman right behind
He tried to prove his innocence
But all he got was another bounty on his head
On the run
He is a real son of a gun
But there's no turning back
He's a wanted man
A long way from home
He's a wanted man
His name is Young Blood
He's a wanted man
A long way from home
He's a wanted man
His name is Young Blood
The lyrics of Iron Fire's Wanted Man depicts the story of a man named Young Blood who is on the run from the law. He is riding on his horse, moving towards the horizon, and disappears, just like a ghost or a shadow that cannot find peace. The sound of the shotgun fire can be interpreted as a symbol of the constant danger that Young Blood is in. The song emphasizes how he is a real "son of a gun" and how there is no turning back for him. He is far away from his home, and he is a wanted man.
As the lyrics continue, it is revealed that Young Blood is being hunted by the lawman, and he is now in a shady land. He tries to prove his innocence, but unfortunately, he is not given a fair chance. Instead, he gets another bounty on his head, which makes his situation even worse. He is constantly on the move, and there is no way to escape.
Overall, the song is a story of a man who is fighting for his survival, but he is continuously being chased by the law with no hope of escape. The lyrics denote the harsh realities of life, where sometimes, people are accused of something they did not do, and they are left with no choice but to run away.
