(João Fonseca), who then played all instruments, except for the drums. A drum machine had to be used since at first he couldn't find decent musicians for his band. He used 4 tracker to record a 15 minute promo-tape which featured 3 songs, and this was the first release by the band.

Since then the band has released three studio albums, Ironsword in 2002, Return of the Warrior in 2004 and Overlords of Chaos in 2008.

J.M. no longer plays all instruments. Instead he's the singer and guitarist, Arrno Maalm (Beto Arrais) is the drummer, and Rick Thor is the bass player.

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Ironsword's song Brothers of the Blade describe a journey beyond the borders of Koth and Shem in search of the splendor of the dreaming west. The adventurer travels across Corinthia, with Ophir lying ahead, and finds that the road of kings is theirs again. Barbarians ride in the night throughout the Hyborian world, and the adventurer's final halt is in Zingara and Argos. It is their fate to battle and raid, and they live an adventurous life on the main trade route. The triumvirate of brothers of the blade is formed to conquer and overthrow Aquilonia, grasping the throne, and to return to Zamboula's tavern for a rest fit for kings with wenches and wine.
