After going their separate ways, and each converting to the Rastafari movement, they reunited in Kingston and formed a vocal group. Funding for their first album came in the form of a grant from the Twelve Tribes of Israel branch of Rastafari after Hugh Booth, a member of the Twelve Tribes, had overheard the three men singing in a wooded area outside Kingston. Apple and Wiss were living in the area, which they had converted into a home.
Israel Vibration recorded three albums; "The Same Song", "Unconquered People", and "Why You So Craven" before temporarily disbanding in 1981 after recording sessions for the latter were left incomplete. The three men moved to the United States to seek professional health care and escape the growing Dancehall movement in Jamaica. In 1988, Gary "Dr. Dread" Himmelfarb, founder of RAS Records, urged the trio to reunite and record an album. Skelly, Apple, and Wiss were flown to Washington, D.C. to record a new album at Lion and Fox Recording Studios. "Strength of my Life", the group's fourth album and first of 18 CD releases on the RAS label, was met with great praise and is considered one of the few post-golden era touchstones of the roots reggae genre.
In 1997, Apple Gabriel left the group to pursue a solo career. Skelly and Wiss continue to record albums and tour the world as Israel Vibration, backed by longtime associates Roots Radics.
Why Worry
Israel Vibration Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Who can say what the future gonna bring
But if you worry about tomorrow
It will only bring you sorrow
Go out and have a good time
For this world is so fine
Go out and have a good time
This world is so fine
Hold your head up high
Face the future with a smile
Things'll be better
It just takes a little while
So when you're feelin' low, down and out
You're gonna shine without a doubt
Go out and have a good time
For this world is so fine
Go out and have a good time
This world is so fine
This world is so fine
Life is just what you make it
Can be good or can be bad
How can you miss something you never had?
When things go wrong don't forget
There's no need for you to get upset
Go out and have a good time
For this world is so fine
Go out and have a good time
This world is so fine
This world is so fine
It's gonna be alright
To worry about anything
Who can say what the future gonna bring
The lyrics of Israel Vibration's Why Worry advocate for a positive and carefree outlook on life, encouraging listeners not to worry about the future as it can bring only sorrow. The song emphasizes the importance of enjoying the present moment and making the most out of life while we still can. The repetition of the phrase "go out and have a good time" reinforces the idea that life is meant to be enjoyed, and that worrying will only detract from our ability to appreciate the world around us. Furthermore, the song tells us to hold our head up high and face the future with a smile, as things will eventually get better. It teaches us to be resilient and not let our worries and problems consume us.
Overall, the message of the song is one of hope and positivity. It reminds us that even when things are tough, we can choose to focus on the good things in life and maintain a positive outlook. By doing so, we can find the strength to overcome our obstacles and enjoy life to the fullest.

Everyday I believe (believe)
Believe I really get confused (confused)
And everyday I tune on the air (the air)
I hear about the tribulation everywhere (everywhere)
I went down down just the other day (the other day)
I see the rest of man, they were everywhere (everywhere)
They all were sad and their face looked bad (looked bad)
I knew the tribulation was really sad (really sad)
I spread their mats and them I say (and then I say)
Why worry worry worry when I can pray (I can pray)
I spread their mats and then I say (and then I say)
Higher higher nights leads the way (leads the way)
Why worry (why worry, why worry, why worry)
When you can pray
Sees lost and, lost and fallen
As it leads the way, my God
And I don't be like doubtful Thomas
I say so, don't go down with fighting gun (why should you do that)
Why worry, why worry, why worry no more
And don't you ever say you're in a hurry
And you can never ever get to pray
(Do not worry now, all nation back to God)
If you do ever say that you're in a hurry (all nation back to God)
That you can never ever get to pray (why worry)
But as you go along the way (no worry)
And don't you forget to pray (do not worry now)
Be careful what the people say (all nation back to God)
Or they will let you go astray (why worry)
Don't fake the thing you do (don't worry)
And surely surely surely God will put you through
Why should I (all nation back to God) be resting when I am to pray
(Why worry, no worry, do not worry now)
No worry, no worry (all nation back to God)
No worry, no worry (why worry)
Why worry (no worry)
(Do not worry now, all nation back to God)
If you ever say you're in a hurry
