The part I love most about the secret ending is that it exemplifies how strong V really is, how powerful the player has become. No allies, no support, not much in the way of a plan.

All the other paths have planning phases as long as missions in their own right. This ending literally jump cuts to you waltzing past the metal detectors and getting stuck in.

Just walk straight in the front door and start laying waste. Not even Johnny could manage that in his 2 attempts on the tower. And he wasn’t as successful either time.

Side note: you only have to do the side quest with rogue and select the rogue option dialog when talking to Johnny during the final mission on the rooftop. I had 40% Johnny and I just followed an achievement Hunter video lol. Select whatever dialog you want only one that matters is “think I’ll call rogue” I can one hundred percent confirm this due to having every achievement. Hope this helps everyone else!!

70% rating seems to dramatically change the tone of the dialogue between V and Johnny inside Mikoshi for the non-Arasaka endings. At 60% V talks like he's glad Johnny's out and there's no dialogue whatsoever when entering the well. At 70% though the tone changes a lot and you feel like V and Johnny really are friends, and there are additional lines shared between Johnny and V on the way to the well.

The lines totally destroyed me inside.

Yep. I did every ending at 70% and basically Johnny instantly decides to let you keep your body, with V desperately trying to save the situation for them both, even saying if Johnny can still be in the biochip while V is rightfully transferred to the brain.

Definitely teary eyed in every scenario, as it showed how much V and Johnny grew closer throughout the entire adventure.

I just noticed that if you have unlocked the secret ending, Johnny's behavior after the show in A Like Supreme is much more protective of V. He gets annoyed at Kerry for leaving V behind after the show and says that he kinda regretted making her (or him) take the pills just to make Kerry happy.

I kinda wish that the secret ending had v and Johnny merge more. Like near the end where V and Johnny were thinking and saying the same thing in Vik’s clinic. Instead of the endings being nearly identical, the secret should have been a synthesis ending between V and Johnny, both becoming completely different person, like Ghost in the Shell.

See i think that ending or the ending where V decides to let Johnny have his/her body and become an AI also makes sense. Johnny leaves night city and doesn't look back. Where as the Nomad Ending if you're a male and you chose Panam you just kind of live a few more months in the outback with Panam in a sort of "This is my last ride lets make it count" and then die. It's Bittersweet. Or just accepting everything and becoming an Engram and letting that ride your body while you and Johnny become AI Overlords....

As far as betraying Jackie and Misty...Jackie is dead and he died commiting a crime, not in cold blood. Misty is upset with you but she still calls in the end. No one dies like in the other endings. And yes you betray Johnny, but first off the guy is already dead and lived his life already, and died from his own poor decisions. Most of all Johnny is a horrible selfish person that killed a quarter of a million people with a nuke and the resulting fallout. Jonny is basically worse than Bin Laden.

In my latest playthrough I did every mission, except in the Rogue movie mission, I didn't kiss her. Interesting. I watched your video when it first came out. I am at 980 hrs in 2077. I can confirm that you can be at 50% and not get the secret ending if you don't do the dialog options.
Also, if you want to have some fun, get Skippy before level 10. He won't talk to you unless you are level 10. But the gun stays safe in your inventory. Then when you hit level 10, go to your apartment. (That's where it happened for me). When you wake up, the skippy animation plays off your finger and hand like a hologram (instead of out of the gun- because you can't hold guns in your apt.). It's a really cool animation.😁👍

You know you did everything right if Johnny tells you after the samurai concert that “Kerry’s new life and his well-being mentally isn’t as important as yours” if you didn’t choose the exact dialogue options in chippin in Johnny will say something in the likes of “it’s nice that Kerry is doing well but (sarcastically) he shouldn’t be doing toooo well ;)” so if he REALLY likes you because of the right dialogue choices your well-being will be more important to him than Kerry’s (small detail but maybe it can help some of you to be reassured you didn’t mess up the chippin in dialogue choices :D)

Another indicator that you chose the right options in a quest before the concert is in Kerry’s house when Johnny takes the pill and switches back to V Kerry asks him if V likes Johnny, he will say that v loves him if you did everything right, if you didn’t he says something like “no we aren’t on good terms right now” which is bad writing because you literally just told each other that you’re good friends the only difference is that the one dialogue option with “you fucked it up” is different

Storming the enemy, fill their hearts with terror as you are laying down absolute hate with extreme impunity a la John Wick without endangering any of your friends is the most badass and selfless way of doing things in my opinion. I was at 30% before Chippin' In. Did like the video told me, got to 50% and unlocked the secret ending. I think it's EITHER you say the right shit in Chippin' In OR you have Johnny at 70%.

I think there's a way to confirm if you can get the secret ending during the quest where you go meet Kerry Eurodyne. Near the end of that quest when Johnny is about to switch back to V, Kerry will ask him something along the lines of "do you guys get along?" then Johnny will answer with something like "the guy loves me" or "we're OK", if Johnny answers the former it means you have a good relationship with him and may unlock the secret ending or not if he answers with the latter.

Hey xLetalis, loved your videos.

On my 2nd playthrough I started noticing some cool stuff within the game that tie separate quests together. Not in a profound way but just interesting tidbits. For example:

There's a ripperdoc that is very shady and in his basement he has scavs killing people and taking their parts so that he can reuse to sell as a ripperdoc. There's 2 quests here: to retrieve a datapad and the laptop. If you look at the computer terminal, you will see the notes for all the cybernetic enhancements he did for a Rose Horrigan.

Rose Horrigan can also be found in another quest where you're supposed to retrieve some data from a Juliet Horrigan who went missing. When you go to the basement you will see Rose Horrigan as a cyberpsycho who killed her sister Juliet.

There's another example of the cop you find above Kabuki market called Anna Hamill. The one you can convince to walk away or just kill her. I found her name in a laptop reading in a gang activity where you save someone from the Tyger Claws. In the laptop the person was writing about how Anna Hamill was supposed to offer them NCPD witness protection but that the Tyger Claws are going to attack him

I chose "You were a dick in the start", "When you said you let down your friends...", and "Smasher biz really got to her", and was able to do the secret ending, so those specific options may not matter, it's just what's directed toward Johnny that's important (Guy who saved my life, etc.), along with doing the side quests for him

@BGgungame makes sense from a narritive perspective. Literally the only person in his "life", and you tell him he's screwed that up. Gives him motive to think about how to fix it. I wonder if you have to pair it with the 2nd chance option too, as that would make the most sense. His second chance is the secret ending.

On my first playthrough, when I was still just going with the flow, I remember I did NOT pick the "No u fucked up..." option, and I did not get the ending. Every other Johnny quest afterwards I did and I was even pretty nice to him, up to 70%. So this might just be the trigger.

0:30 Having the "Edgerunner, You Only Live Once, Down To The Wire" completion percentages at MAXIMUM before the point of no return, would be 90%, 60%, 40% respectively.
This is the maximum possible, even having completed all other Major and Minor side quests, gigs, assaults in progress, organized crimes, reported crimes etc.

They will increase towards 100% during the final mission beyond the point of no return.

Thanks for this! I was going to do this ending on my main CORP character, but I realized I didn’t had the last save but decided to play the game again as a Nomad. I really don’t mind the grinding all the way back to the ending anyways.

Hey thanks a lot, it worked.
just a few pointers to avoid the uncertain parts.
- you only need to follow the conversation choices showed in 2:07
- i tried this with out doing the following story paths Rouge/Judy/Panam
- with out doing the Rouge/Judy/Panam story path, in 2:36 you will have only one choice "Think trusting arasaka..."
- Wait for 5 minutes as mentioned in the video and bingo, the secret ending convo starts.
- the only problem is with out those story mission, in the mission in arasaka all the enemies are way overpowered.

i played the final mission with arasaka, rouge and panam, so really wanted to try out this secret ending

You don't even need to finish the "Blistering love" quest. Just finish "Chippin' in" with these dialog options and you'll have it. Was able to get the secret ending even with 40% (patch 1.06). One probably important note here: I was able to get the ending AFTER I choose any of available options (f.e. asking Panam for help; Johnny will ask you whether you are sure after that) and then wait for Johnny to suggest his option. When I was waiting for him before I choose any of the options, I either didn't wait enough (however it was for like 10 minutes) or it doesn't trigger for some reason when he asks you for the first time.

Honestly the ending I want is where you walk through the front door alone (like the secret ending) but then leave Night City with the Aldecados. Sadly the only way you get to leave with the Aldecados is if you got a bunch of them killed doing the Panam ending.

My understanding is you have to push Johnny so that he's willing to go on the suicide mission. That's why "you fucked this up too" leads to "now this is your last chance". And Johnny will promise to try damn hard. I was totally nice to him in my version of the scene and it makes sense that he doesn't feel he have to make the effort to earn my V's trust. That being said, the whole secret ending and 70% thing is entirely misleading (I say it's devs fault because they advertised it in the first place) and not worth it at all.

So one thing that might be worth digging into to see what else it's changing behind the scenes is the "debug" option. It's possibly why folks are going round and round on how to get this ending, as at least visibly the debug command to enable it defaults Johnny's rating to 70%.

Great video, I think there's still possible options that could be possible to unlock it but it's still neat to have more information at least as to things that seem to work.

Though i must say, i was dying at the end of the video there at 3:00 where the large goon tripped over the body in midair and proceeded to make everyone else trip with his body landing at your feet. 10/10 humor, would raid 'saka tower again.

I got the ending first playthrough, before I watched most of your videos on the game - I just love Johnny. He's such a well written "character" (even if he is technically just a construct, and not a person).

Through all the shortcomings of Cyberpunk, it doesn't lack good characters and a damn good story. In my opinion, nobody can say anything against that. And I hate the people that reviewbomb TW3 with 0s on Metacritic just because Cyberpunk wasn't what they imagined...

I tried to do this ending only to die immediately after I killed smasher. When I saw the credits rolled all I could think about was the ending of cowboy bebop.

Bonus points since I was playing as a gunslinger, almost wish I got a scene of V stumbling bloody out of elevators back into the tower lobby, only to see Rogue and the afterlife mercs/Panam and the Aldecados waiting in shock and V performs Spike's signature scene.

I did this unintentionally. I actually like it, because it’s true - he was extremely manipulative. I felt it was right to be honest with him. Tough love is telling people when they’ve made mistakes too, so they have a chance to do right next time. This made it really touching for me, when I saw he really did change for the better by the end, and I realised he had honoured the final trust I had given him. I didn’t do the secret ending, choosing the nomad instead, but i liked how they did this all the same.

OK I just completed the reaper at 40% Johnny Rating.
In terms of dialogue I picked 'rockerboy' then the same lines as the vid.
Also I noticed the conversation with Hanako at Embers is slightly different. With the reaper unlocked you flinch and the guards get upset, without the reaper there is no flinch and the meeting is totally smooth.
Also Takemura was salty AF in the credits.

I thought they were 2 different endings, and was under the impression you can do don't fear the reaper by simply agreeing with hakano and then attacking when you go inside where 70% relationship allows a conversation where Johnny agrees to take over vs body and storm arasaka completely alone, I could be wrong as I haven't tested my self but I'm in the process of doing so, also trying to get with Judy as a female before ever interacting with panam to see if I can get a relationship with both from swapping genders before she meets female v

Got secret ending with "Night city legend" answer and made more friendly approach with Jonny on this dialogue, so not shure if it's necessary. Went with Rogue and ended up in cyberspace as Jonny. I just turned away from the well, got beat up by V and went into cyberspace on my own, without optional quest line. (did it way before knowing that ending is secret, on my first playthrough) So, my option is just trust Jonny, end up as him in cyberspace and just go to the light while V beats you. Think you should try it this way, looks like it's not so hard to get this ending.

3:00. I didn't do Panam's Queen of the Highway mission, Johnny didn't mention Aldecados in the end. Just argued with V between the choice of trusting Hanako and Rogue. Still got (Don't) Fear The Reaper. In the end credits, she calls V and begs for a gig. It made sense, actually, considering V became the top dog in the Afterlife.

I'm on my 4th playthrough and I can see clear difference in interactions between V and Johnny (Kerry in one instance) if you choose the right dialogue options at Johnny's grave. First time I noticed it was when Johnny went to meet up with Kerry. He asks Johnny how he gets along with V. If you picked the wrong options at Johnny's grave (even if you're nice to him throughout the game) he will still say that you two don't get along. But if you picked the right choices, he says that V loves him (which is ironic, considering how harsh V was towards him at his grave). Then, after the A Like Supreme quest (concert), Johnny says that he is really concerned about V and that taking over their body wasn't a good idea and he feels bad about it (makes sense that later he suggests storming Arasaka solo, with V in control).

I'll be doing this ending on my 2nd play of the game. Once I realized I screwed it up on my first, I knew I would have to do it 2 times, but I'm a sucker for completion. Plus what is the best way to do all endings? Make a "ending" save right before starting the final mission and just reloading it for every ending?

Kinda late on watching this, this is the ending I got my first playthrough but I didn't realise it was a secret ending. I basically just was friends with Johnny the entire time, I always tried to find middle ground with him and I ended up having a really fun back and forth with him throughout the game. When we went to his resting place, I thought that I picked "A hard road, but looks like we made it," instead of saying he fucked that up too. I guess I don't remember correctly if this is the only way to get that ending? I just figured I got it because I tried being pals with him the whole game and then just kinda willingly gave him my body at the end.

But I also had said that he and Rogue should go, and after the Panam missions, I never had anything else to do with her. I had a Judy romance.

weirdly enough I had 60% on the Johnny level bar, and had issues unlocking the "secret true ending" - ended up with the same choices at that conversation, which got me to 70% and made me assume like most people did that this was the requirement xD Task sucessfully failed.

One guide I found online because I wanted to see if I had unlocked it before I actually started the ending quest stated that the only things required are finishing Tapeworm, Chippin' In, Blistering Love, and making those dialogue choices during Chippin' In, then of course, waiting 5 minutes during the deciding the ending part. It did mention the having Johnny at 70% which is incorrect, but if you've done those 3 quests, you're going to have him at at least 50%. Pretty sure the Delamain choice that he supports gives you some % as well, so getting him to 50-70% is pretty direct for the most part, just don't be a jerk to him. lol

i Think choices doesn't matter as long as V is on friendly terms with Jonny. Personally i picked rockerboy and he start his dialogue about messing up relationships, i think access to secret ending is more about talking to Jony when you have chance and not taking blue pills than anything.

Wanted to try a new build. Since CDPR still don't let us respec attributes, started a new "best" ending run, leaving the city with Panam, Judy romanced.

Also wanted to have each ending available.

Just to make sure the suicide run was properly available, followed this guide (this is my third full play through, but just wanted to make sure I didn't fuck up). All done so threw on the secret suicide run for a laugh, not expecting this to be my canon ending, very hard mode.

I got this ending on first playthru, did Chipping In side quest, romanced Rogue and even had her help in the infiltration of Arasaka Tower. Won't tell you how that went, but still went to space... alone.... sad/angry :(

I wonder if 70% is the highest you can go I know that after you go past the point of no return during the epilogue if you give your body to Johnny the Johnny rating goes up to 100% if you stay as V the 90% goes to 100% and if you choose the star ending and complete all missions and side missions that goes to 100%

You don't need to do Rogue's or Kerry's or Panam's side quest. You can go straight to the ending mission and still get the secret ending

I choose Night City Legend in my play through. Using the save game, If I pick Johnny to go back he'll wake up in the trailer, buy the guitar, and catch a bus. If I let V go back I get the space casino heist ending. My Johnny rating is 60%. I'm still using this particular save.

I was at 60% in my first playthrough, with most of the choices pro johnny, let's call it like that [bushido x w/ rogue, kerry and samurai concert, etc.]. I didn't get the secret ending (actually said "the guy that saved my life", but didn't choose to say that he fucked our thing up too).
Based on that and other comments, I'm thinking the 2nd dialog from this video is the most important one.

Somehow, if you put yourself in Johnny's shoes, people died for him, his friends hated him (his words), but V was the one that called him out on his behavior and gave him a 2nd chance. Probably what I said before doesn't hit the spot exactly, since I didn't give it much time to come up with the best words that describe this. Nonetheless, I guess he (=Silverhand) valued that, quite a lot, since you'd get the secret ending.

CDPR could easily make a sequel or spin-off based off of the world beyond the Blackwall. It's so shrouded in mystery that it makes me very curious what goes on there. What Alt's true intentions are.

I can confirm that you don't need to do the Panam quest lines either. I did the bare minimun, can chose only between Hanako and Rogue ending and I still got the secret ending to proc.

You don’t have to be at 70% but most people who played through normally got to 60% when doing all Johnny related quests. If you went in blind you’ll still likely have to make a new save file to get the ending and it’s hard asf if you’re not prepared.

I was definitely able to get the secret ending by choosing a different prompt from the first, but I did the same as you did from then on. I think I chose "relentless rockerboy"

So I have a 60% johnny rating and chose the "man who saved my life" "whish we had talked like this sooner" and "still feel like you can't breath" (or something to that effect ) and didn't get the secret ending, so I'm guessing this dialog counts

Also you can get in Arasaka Tower earlier the final mission, if you knock down a white suit guy in front the enter, then grab him through the entrance gate. Oh and don't forget to use him when you leave the tower though. xD

Just a question, does it matter if previously you decide to hear out grayson and get Johnny's car back? Does that affect your relationship with Johnny? I would LOVE to get an answer to this.

Pretty sure that doesn't affect the conversation options you get at Johnny's gravestone, although ... it may give you % increase with Johnny I can't confirm. But I'm pretty sure I got the secret ending without getting the car.

Did you save Takemura? Maybe that's also a requirement, I dunno. I didn't save him and I didn't get the secret ending. I think we still need some puzzle pieces to solve this mystery and get a 100% guarantee for the secret ending to be available :D Anyway, good vid, left you a like^^

Can confirm it's working.. I did all the steps in video.. My Johny lvl is 50.. Waited 5 min on same dialog on roof.. Was getting the don't tear the reaper trigger 🤔🤔🤔 ty for helpful video

Not sure dialog prompt #2 is strictly required - I got the mission, and while I don't recall my choices perfectly, I doubt I chose that one. Could be wrong

Betrayed Panam, let Goro die, skipped one Tapeworm dialogue scene after wiping out The Voodoo Boys, went on date with Rogue and got the Reaper option... just followed the answers for Chippin' In. Thanks mate. Now to "sanitize" NC with freedom and abandon.

I had the option to do this ending with 60% "YOLO" even though I picked some other dialogue options in Chippin' In. I heard that you can get the ending as far as the Johnny meter says "YOLO" when you hover over it.

@Fate At 60%? Then I don't know. No idea if it is relevant but when choosing which ending to get I accidentally clicked the suicide option and then Johnny told me of his solo plan.

Wow consider myself lucky on my 1st blind playthrough ,i pick all correct dialogue to trigger secret ending , in my case , Johnny at 60% , not yet finish Kerry Story because i got Second Conflict bug where Dum Dum still missing even on hotfix 1.06

From what i can tell there is more than one way to get don't fear the reaper. You can have 70% or you can have some of the dialogue choices you made here

i haven't gone to the ending yet as been doing all the side quests to get fully decked out, hopefully, i can still get the secret ending with the options I chose as I did "the guy saved my life" and then 'hard road but looks like we made it"

Thanks for guide. I'm sucker for suicide missions and this one is reminding me of independent ending of VTM: Bloodlines. A protagonist attacking villain's lair by himself.
Also, that Witcher soundtrack fits well with Adam Smasher's fight.

Weird did not think you needed certain rating to unlock endings. I got them all and had 40% rating with Johnny. It is all confusing.

When you get to this point Johnny might not say anything even after 3-4 minutes, but if you select on one of the options (I did rogue) and back out then he gives you the option to go alone.

If you do all the Kerry personnal quests, you can have a short romance with him ( and also unlock 2 new joytoys )

I think saying "Nah, you fucked that up too." is the most important thing. You really lay it how it is: he's using you and that's shitty. You're being real with him with how he's treating you. But you give him a second chance, not be a complete asshole. I think that's what gets the secret ending. Kinda how real life relationships work, gotta be real with your feelings with other people.

Agreeing to give a 2nd chance should be extremely important as well, I'm 90% sure that if you refuse you can't even get the Rogue ending

Dont know if you will see but the % changes you max hp

If you have 70% you HP will decrease and be capped at 70%

At 50% bond it will be half

I wonder if there's an achievement for having 100% Keanu rating at the end of the game. I finished it with the secret ending and tried to be nice to Johnny most of the time but only got 90%.
