It's Not Me
Issa Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
There's really no one
Who should be blamed
We just grew apart
We didn't plan this
From the start
We should turn around
But there is something
That makes me stay
I believed I could
Be the one for you
Someone who is right and true
It took some time to see
Now I've realized
It's not me
Please tell me
Will I ever find love again
Will I find someone
Who will restore my faith in love
Should I turn around
Keep walking away
But there is something
That makes me stay
I believed I could
Be the one for you
Someone who is right and true
It took some time to see
Now I've realized
It's not me
Life has twists and turns
Never lose your faith
We try to work it out
Figure it out
A mystery my friend
I believed I could
Be the one for you
Someone who is right and true
It took some time to see
Now I've realized
It's not me
I believed I could
Be the one for you
Someone who is right and true
It took some time to see
Now I've realized
It's not me
The lyrics of Issa's song, "It’s Not Me," seem to speak about a relationship that has ended due to the couple growing apart. The singer claims that they have both changed, and there is no one to blame for the end of the relationship. They did not plan to go their separate ways, but it happened naturally. Despite this, there is an unexplainable something that is keeping the singer from walking away completely.
The chorus of the song speaks about how the singer believed they could be the right person for their partner, but they have come to the realization that they are not. They ask if they will ever find love again and someone who will restore their faith in love. The song ends with a message to never lose faith and to try and figure out the mysteries of life.
Overall, the song seems to capture the feelings of someone who is trying to come to terms with the end of a relationship and find closure.
