The Wolves
Iver Bon Lyrics
Someday my pain, someday my pain
Will mark you
Harness your blame, harness your blame
And walk through
With the wild wolves around you
In the morning, I'll call you
Send it farther on
Solace my game, solace my game
Swing wide your crane, swing wide your crane
And run me through
And the story's all over you
In the morning I'll call you
Can't you find a clue
when your eyes are all painted Sinatra blue
What might have been lost
What might have been lost
What might have been lost
What might have been lost (don't bother me)
What might have been lost (don't bother me)
What might have been lost (don't bother me)
What might have been lost (don't bother me)
What might have been lost (don't bother me)
What might have been (don't bother me) (what might have been lost)
What might have been lost (don't bother me) (what might have been)
What might have been lost (don't bother me)
What might have been lost
What might have been lost
What might have been lost
Ah
Ah
Someday, my pain
Someday, my pain
Someday, my pain
Someday, my pain

It stars you

What might have been lost -
Don't bother me

I've liked Bon Iver for quite a few years, and only just now realized something. I can't make out 3/4 of lyrics in the songs, but it has never mattered to me, which is weird. The vocals are actually like a subliminal guide. Music doesn't need lyrics to tell a story. John Butler's "Ocean" proves that. Bon Iver's voice is just a unique instrument that takes me on a strange journey, a different one for each song. Even the ones I can hear every word, the words aren't what I listen to. He's kinda unique in this way, at least for me.

It's the same for M83
The words sang, the lyrics, aren't the focal point, the voice is an instrument in and of itself. Its the intensity and tone of the voice that evokes the feelings and emotions, rather than the words themselves. It's why I love both. You can appreciate the song based on tone, the words aren't what matter here.
