1) Jón Þór… Read Full Bio ↴Jónsi is a pseudonym of, at least, two Icelandic artists:
1) Jón Þór Birgisson is the lead singer and guitarist for Sigur Rós and half of Jónsi & Alex, known for his soft falsetto voice . He released his solo debut album, Go, on April 6, 2010.
Birgisson grew up in Iceland, raised by parents who weren't particularly musical; his early memories include playing The Beatles at double speed on his turntable and listening to and playing along with Iron Maiden records. You can hear him speak at length about his musical past and loves in a recent episode of "All Songs Considered," in which Birgisson plays guest DJ. His history as Sigur Ros' singer and guitarist spans 16 years, during which time the band has released five studio albums and coined a unique sound that has yet to be matched by any act since.
2) Jón Jósep Snæbjörnsson (b. 1 Jun '77), is a singer & member of Í Svörtum Fötum ("In black clothing"). He was Iceland's Eurovision Song Contest 2004 representative, finishing 19th. He has also competed at Söngvakeppni Sjónvarpsins 2007, which is a television show to pick Iceland's song for the Eurovision Song Contest with the song Segðu Mér.

Bloo alvoru, starir a
oour hundur er i vigamoo, i maga... mer
Kolniour gref, kvik sem dreg her
Kolniour svart, hvergi bjart ne
Kolniour og myrkur uti
Kolniour og dimmur lekur blek
eg reyni og brenni bata skel
Langt moldur og okkur
Myrkur gram, gram her
Dauoa hjar, linnurst, skrjafandi
Ein bry aour, eg ut von nei
Sjalfur blindur a, yfir nog
Og eg kjustigpao um...

The lyrics of Jónsi's song Kolnidur paints a picture of a desolate and dark landscape where the singer is struggling with inner turmoil. The first verse describes the scene with "Gloandi augu" (weeping eyes) and "silfurnatt" (silver night). The only company the singer has is their dog, who is "i vigamoo, i maga" (on alert, on guard). The second verse talks about the singer's state of mind, where they are consumed by darkness and shadows, represented by "Kolniour gref" (grey ash) and "Kolniour svart" (black ash). The darkness is dominant in the outside world, but it also resides within the singer, "En i mer, rikir oveour" (But in me, it reigns supreme).
The chorus of the song is a repetition of the word "Kolniour," which represents the darkness that the singer is battling with. The darkness is an inseparable part of the singer's being, and they cannot escape it. The bridge of the song talks about the singer's struggle to break free from the darkness and find a glimmer of hope. They are trying to overcome their inner demons, but it is a difficult and painful process, "eg reyni og brenni bata skel" (I try and burn the boats). The last verse talks about the singer's feeling of isolation, "Ein bry aour, eg ut von nei" (Not a single soul, expecting nothing), and their inability to comprehend the world around them, "Sjalfur blindur a, yfir nog" (I am blind, to all that is here).
Overall, the lyrics of Kolnidur are introspective and melancholic, describing a struggle with inner demons and feelings of isolation. The song's repetitive nature emphasizes the singer's inability to escape the darkness, creating a hauntingly beautiful melody that matches the lyrics' somber mood.

Glowing eyes, silver blue
Glowing in stares at
Oh, and a dog is in a frenzy, in the stomach
Charcoal mask, who sings here
Coal answer, neither in, yes, here
Coal and mist form
Inside me, not and price out
Charcoal and temples leaked blue
Why in life and burns fail to cut
Far moldy and us
Lift gray, gray here
Leafy hair, softened, yes, wad
One bridge before, I out hope no
Himself surf, surf calm over enough
And I kissed about ...
@golafs
Glowing eyes, silver night
Real blood, staring at
Berserk mad dog, in my stomach
Endless dark, digs, quickly drawn here
Endless dark, black, no light or...
Endless dark and darkness outside
But in me, there is a storm
Endless dark or dark dripping ink/blackness
I try and burn boat shells
Long mold and us
Dark gray, gray here
Death is near, rustling
Singled out, no hope
Myself blinded, more than enough
And I submissively step out
@oof-kj9ft
[English translation]
Glowing eyes, silver night
Dead serious, staring out
Furious dog is in a killing mood, in my belly
Endless dark buries, alive who makes it here
Endless dark black, no light at all...
Endless dark and darkness outside,
But in me, a storm rages
Endless dark and dark dripping ink,
I try and burn boat shells,
Far away mold and ours
Darkness looms, looms here
Death is near, you stop rustling
Singled out, no hope
Myself blinded, more than enough
And I submissively stepped out the door
[Icelandic original]
Glóandi augu, silfurnátt
Blóð alvöru, starir á
Óður hundur er í vígamóð, í maga... mér
Kolniður gref, kvik sem dreg hér
Kolniður svart, kvergi bjart né
Kolniður og myrkur úti
En í mér, ríkir óveður
Kolniður og dimmur lekur blek
Ég reyni og brenni báta skel
Langt móldur og okkur
Myrkur grám, grám hér
Dauða hjár, linnurst, skrjáfandi
Ein brý áður, ég út von nei
Sjálfur blindur á, yfir nóg

I love his music. He is out there doing what he feels unlike most things you hear on MTV. This man should be recognized for his work and creativity.
