You Can Make It
J.C. White Singers Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Now you know me
You know how proud I am
And what I'm gonna tell you now
Won't be easy to say

Before I left your side
Ooh, I was so happy then
But I've been so lonely
Since I've been away
Oh, baby

I've tried and I know I can't make it alone
It's such a hard way to go
I just can't make it alone
There's something in my soul
That will always (always)
Lead me back to you

What can I say now?
Sorry is just not good enough
I couldn't blame you if you hurt me now
The way I hurt you then

But who else can I turn to?
Oh, baby, I'm begging you
Won't you reach out for my dying soul?
And make me live again
Oh, baby, it's so hard

I've tried and I know I can't make it alone
It's such a hard way to go
I just can't make it alone
There's something in my soul (in my soul)
That will always
Lead me back to you

I just can't make it by myself
Just can't make it byself

Baby, help me
I've tried and I know I can't make it alone
It's such a hard way to go
And I can't make it alone
There's something in my soul (in my soul)
That will always (always)
Lead me back to you

Oh, help me
(Please help me)
You know I need you
(I need you)
I'm saying that I need you
I just can't make it by myself
(I just can't make it by myself)
I just can't make it all alone
(I just can't make it all alone)

I just can't make it by myself
(I just can't make it by myself)

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of "You Can Make It" by the J.C. White Singers talks about the desire for reconciliation and the admission of fault. The singer expresses regret and apologizes for past mistakes, letting the listener know that he is struggling without their company. Though he feared that he would be rejected when he reached out to the person he hurt, he is certain that he cannot continue living without their support.

The song's lyrics showcase a level of vulnerability that the singer may not be accustomed to. He lays bare his emotional needs and admits to himself that he needs help to heal. The repetition of "I just can't make it alone" underscores the pain of being separated from the person he loves. Overall, the lyrics speak to the power of forgiveness and the healing that can come from admitting one's mistakes and asking for a second chance.

Pastor/Bishop J. C. White is still the coolest when it comes to jazzy
gospel music with a urban style and with a KJV based message. His wife,
Evangelist Gloria, is the great alto diva who has the unique way of
ending a song. She melodiously ministers song lyrics straight through
the ear to the spirit/heart. They both are blessings to us all who love
great gospel lyrics and music. Sincerely, Aman.
