Aye aye aye
Yeah yeah
Mmhmm

Shawty you got me falling right Into you
Tell me really what you really tryna do
Told me that you don't care nah
When I know well you can't Disguise the truth
Said that you weren't ready
But you wanted to
Always got me thinking I gotta play it cool
Shawty you got me falling right Into you
Shawty you got me falling right Into you
Into you
There's nothing I'm risking
(no no)
You what I been missing
(no no)
Be the light in my dark ooh
(yeah I need yeah I need it)
No girl you ain't tripping
This is something different
(it is)
Just listen to your heart
(just listen just listen just listen)

Overall Meaning

In J.D. Hall's song "Into You," he sings about moving on from a past relationship and finding happiness without that person. He describes how compromising his values in that relationship led to a less desirable outcome, but now he feels like he is in a better place. Hall references Malcolm X, as he metaphorically expresses how he is no longer in the middle of that past relationship, much like Malcolm X was no longer in the middle of the political spectrum.

The line "call her over Red Rover what do Clifford do" is a nod to the popular childhood game "Red Rover," where one team would call over a player from the other team by saying, "Red Rover, Red Rover, send (player's name) right over." "Clifford" is a reference to the fictional character Clifford the Big Red Dog. The next line, "stand on four paws," is a continuation of the dog theme. Hall then clarifies that he is not interested in men, as he says, "I said pause, I'm not into dudes," playing on the similar pronunciation of "paws" and "pause."

The chorus repeats the same lines about life without the person being better and not wanting to think of them. When Hall sings, "Let me get in to you," he could be referring to getting into a new relationship, but it could also be interpreted as getting into a new phase of his life without the weight of that past relationship holding him back.
