Crazy Mama
J.J. Cale %26 Leon Russell Lyrics

Crazy mama, where you been so long?
Crazy mama, where you been so long?
You've been hiding out, I know that's true
Crazy mama, I sure need you
Crazy mama, where you been so long?

Standing on the corner, looking for you, babe
Standing on the corner, looking for you, babe
Lord have mercy, can I see,
that crazy mama coming back to me?
Crazy mama, where you been so long?

Hearing this on the radio in 1972 hooked me for life...

RIP JJ. Thank You!

This is heart warming to re-visit. I was in the room for these sessions working at Paradise Records along side a handful of fellow Paradise dedicated audio and video engineers. I worked for Leon Russell at that time for a couple of years, I was a teenager at that time. I feel blessed to of had that experience and many others at Paradise. I think my main contribution to this session was trouble shooting the Helios console in the control room of Studio A before the sessions kicked off fixing several problematic issues alongside Jim Mankey, I also got to fill in for Steve Ripley who was the primary first engineer on 3 days of sessions with Leon and JJ.
