The Radio Jam
J.O. The Last Man Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Pump up the jam
Pump it up
While you feet are stompin'
And the jam is pumpin'
Look at here the crowd is jumpin'
Pump it up a little more
Get the party going on the dance floor
Seek us that's where the party's at
And you'll find out if you're too bad

I don't want a place to stay
Get your body on the floor tonight
Make my day
I don't want a place to stay
Get your body on the floor tonight
Make my day

Make my day (x4)
Yo!

Yo!
Pump up the jam, pump it up
A pump it up yo pump it
Pump up the jam, pump it up

A pump it up yo pump it
Pump up the jam, pump it pump it pump it, yo !

Thanks for uploading the whole broadcast, instead of just snippets. And thank you for having it at the right speed. "Fine And Mellow", by Billie, is in Eb, but sounded in E on one old snippet. One of the idiots on the Organissimo bulletin board argued that it was in F, but you can see Gerry Mulligan playing the third note of the scale, the baritone saxophone's top E, which is G in concert pitch, so that proves that the tune is in Eb.

I saw this the Sunday afternoon it aired, while I recorded the audio on a Pentron reel-to-reel tape recorder. Not included in this post is Thelonius Monk's performance of Monk's composition, "Blue Monk", which occurred after the first commercial break.
