Most Of All
J.W. Guercio Lyrics

Hello darlin', my it's good to hear you
I'm at the railroad station in St. Paul
How are all the folks, I'd love to see 'em
But, girl, I'd love to see you most of all

Well I've been starin' at the rain
And I've been thinking
Ever since the train left Montreal,
You know I thought I'd always love
This life I'm living
But now I know I love you most of all

Many times before
I know I swore
That I'd come home to stay

But it always seems
That the foolish dreams
And trains got in my way

Tomorrow there'll be snow in Minnesota
But I won't be around to watch it fall
Oh I'll be heading for an old familiar station
Just hopin' you still love me...most of all

And girl, you know I love you
Most of all

I miss ya baby, most of all
Mm
Mm
Oh I miss ya baby,
I miss ya most of all
Mm
Mm
Oh I miss ya baby
I miss ya most of all
Mm
Mm
Mm
Oh I miss ya baby

I miss ya most of all
Mm

Overall Meaning

The song "Most of All" by J.W. Guercio is a heartfelt and emotional love letter to a distant lover. The singer is at a railroad station in St. Paul and is yearning to see his love more than anyone else. He has been traveling on a train from Montreal and while looking out at the rain, he realizes that he loves her most of all. He has promised before to come home and stay, but has been sidetracked by trains and foolish dreams. Despite the impending snow in Minnesota, he is heading to an old familiar station in hopes that his love still exists.

The lyrics are touching and express the singer's deep longing for his love. He misses her more than anything else and wishes he could be with her. The line "But, girl, I'd love to see you most of all" is repeated throughout the song, emphasizing the singer's immense desire to be reunited with his love.

The lyrics also touch on the idea of how life can get in the way of relationships and promises. The singer has promised to come home and stay with his love before, but has been unable to do so because of his life on the road. The recurring image of trains in the song represents the singer's wanderlust and how it has kept him from being with the one he loves.

Great movie and excellent soundtrack!!!!😄😄

Love booth the movie and this fantastic musicscore. The original albumcover was on the Wall in Captain Frank Furillos office in the TV show Hill Street Blues. Another smash hit in Sweden for years.🌞🎥🎶👍

What a great underrated movie. The music was produced and performed by the band Chicago. I obtained the soundtrack on vinyl in the early 80's after watching the movie on tv in the UK. I was only in my teens then but loved the music and still do. The vinyl album was well presented with a massive poster and a glossy booklet. It also had a gate fold sleeve. The original vinyl recording featured quite a bit of dialogue quotes from the movie. I picked up the soundtrack on cd a while ago but dialogue had been edited out.

It's odd how the end credits don't give credits to the music being performed by members of Chicago. Tell Me was sung by Terry Kath, but it just says it's by James William Guercio. I know he was on a shoe string budget when he produced this film, so he probably didn't give them credit so he wouldn't have to pay them, but he did write the score and that's impressive.

This features the longest improvised solo ever from Jimmy Pankow. Bought it when it first came out.

James William Guercio was at the time, Chicago's record producer so of course he was going to use their talents in this film. He also wrote the whole film score. Terry Kath singing Tell Me should've been on a Chicago album. I wish I could get this soundtrack on cd.

I have the cd and I could burn you a copy of it for a small fee. Really good in digital.
