Growth has been a process that I've struggled with
The progression of my personal development has been difficult

I stand by my promises and expect others to do the same

Almost lost it for second but I'm calm now

Grown ups hate it when I'm right, too much egotism
Adults dislike being corrected by me and assume it is ego-driven

When I argue it ain't pride, it's my intuition
I am confident in my beliefs and do not argue out of arrogance

Do not underestimate my intelligence or intuition because of my age

Back when living in a trailer wasn't home to you

All them times I swallowed pride, I sold my soul to you

I appreciate the kindness you showed me

For all the times you took me in when mom and dad were fighting
Thank you for giving me a safe place to go when my parents were fighting

For keeping me inside the house, I know the streets get violent
I am grateful for the protection you provided by keeping me indoors

For always forcing me to read, I guess it helped with writing
The emphasis on reading played a role in my current writing abilities

It made me nice with rhyming
Reading improved my ability to rhyme

Gave me new perspectives
Reading allowed me to see things from new angles

Taught me read between the lines, so lies are ineffective
Reading allowed me to identify when people are dishonest

Bending words is my profession, so I'm quite impressed with-
My profession involves playing with words, which I am good at

The way ya'll try to bend yours so you stand corrected
Others try to twist their words but I can see through it

I won't fall for ancient ploys, the noise is not affective
I will not be tricked by old tricks and gossip doesn't affect me

You can't interrupt my peace, to hate my ears are deafened
Negative opinions no longer bother me and they cannot disturb my peace of mind

From this moment moving forward, I won't let ya'll stress me
I will no longer allow others to cause me distress

I'll just make ya'll suicidal if you disrespect me
I will not tolerate disrespect and will retaliate strongly

That goes for anyone else
This applies to everyone

Right thought, wrong person, I'm not everyone else
Just because I agree with a notion doesn't mean I am like everyone else

Watch your mouth if I'm around cause I'm unleashing all hell
Be careful what you say around me because I will react fiercely
