Overall Meaning

The opening lines of JR's song "No More Hunger" introduce Khuli Chana as the featured artist. The lyrics begin with a repetition of "What what what," which creates a sense of excitement and anticipation in the listener. The phrase "Itโ€™s all about the..." is repeated throughout the song, with the first instance being followed by "For the money." The lyrics repeat the phrase "Things we do, things, things we do" several times, which could refer to the various means people resort to in order to make ends meet.

The chorus emphasizes the need to eradicate hunger with the repetition of "No more hunger." The lyrics suggest that the only way to end poverty is to make money, and the song highlights the struggles faced by people in pursuit of financial success. The lyrics also promote the idea that it is important to enjoy the fruits of one's labor, as evidenced by lines such as "Letโ€™s toast to kgora kgobola mokotla" and "Fumana table no more hunger."

Verse two contains lines in which JR talks about hustling and keeping his eye firmly on his goals. "Jealousy ke bolwetse bolakaletsi," which means "Jealousy is tearing you asunder" in Setswana, suggests that jealousy is a major obstacle to success in many cases. Towdee Mac, Khuli Chana, and JR are mentioned in the final verse as they work together to overcome their struggles.

Overall, "No More Hunger" is a song that celebrates financial success while highlighting the challenges that people face when trying to make ends meet. While the lyrics suggest that money is the only way to alleviate poverty, the repetition of "No more hunger" is a powerful reminder of the urgent need to end poverty and ensure that everyone can access basic necessities like food.
