Murda I.N.C.
Ha ha it must be the ass
That got me like that
If it get any fatter
Man the rule gonna have to get at her
And our situation won't matter
I come to make you smile
In the freakiest manners
J to the L-O
Hello, no I'm not Ley Harvery Oswald
I'm the rule in the shot call
Off the wall
Like MJ in his early days
It's the Inc. and Lopez now

Ain't it funny
It's been awhile since you came around
Now ya wanna see what's goin' down
Tryin' to tell me how ya want my time
Tryin' to tell me how I'm on your mind (on your mind)
See it never had to be this way
You should of never played the games you played
Now I'm seein' that you're kinda lame
Knowin how the situation changed

Ain't it funny
Baby that you want me, when you had me
Love is crazy, now I can smile and say
Ain't it funny
Baby that you want me, when you had me
Love is crazy, I'm glad I can smile and say
Ain't it funny

I remember how you walked away
Even when I tried to call your name
See at first I didn't understand
Now you're lookin' like a lonely man (lonely man)
I remember how you did me wrong
And now you're hurtin' 'cause my love is gone
Everybody gets a chance to burn
You can take it as a lesson learned

Ain't it funny
Baby that you want me, when you had me
Love is crazy, now I can smile and say
Ain't it funny
Baby that you want me, when you had me
Love is crazy, I'm glad I can smile and say
Ain't it funny

C-A double D, Hi
Double dose my
Fly by, red line
Touch the roast side
Oh I, never been a sucker for chill Ja
Spit the ism, hit 'em, get rid of em, and you know Tah
Get it gully, and ain't that funny
How they want me, see me workin' wit money
But Cali ain't a dummy
What these brodies want from me?
Cos all I got is G, J.Lo
And Murda I.N.C.

I really wish you wouldn't send me gifts
Tryin' to make me sit and reminisce
Tryin' to blind me with your bling bling
Thought I told you love don't cost a thing
(love don't cost a thing)
Hope you realize that now I'm through
And I don't ever wanna hear from you
I had enough of bein' there for you
Now I'm laughin' while you play the fool

Ain't it funny
Baby that you want me, when you had me
Love is crazy, now I can smile and say
Ain't it funny
Baby that you want me, when you had me
Love is crazy, I'm glad I can smile and say
Ain't it funny

Baby, is that you're girlfriend
I got my boyfriend

But maybe we can be friends
La da da da da da

Baby, I got my boyfriend
Is that your girlfriend

Maybe we can be friends
La da da da da da

Overall Meaning

The song Ain't it Funny by Jennifer Lopez featuring Ja Rule is about an ex-lover trying to win back the affection of J Lo. The song speaks about how the ex-lover ignored her when they were together and is now regretting it. He seems to be showering her with gifts, but J Lo thinks it's just an attempt to win her back, and she's not interested. The lyrics reflect her strong and independent personality, and she is unwilling to take him back.

The opening of the song is about Ja Rule getting lost in J Lo's curves and jokingly suggests that if she gets any bigger, he may have to "get at her." The second verse of the song reminisces about J Lo's ex-lover walking away from her, and even when she called out his name, he ignored it. She goes on to explain that he hurt her, and she is now moving on with her life.

The chorus "Ain't it funny" refers to the irony of an ex-lover wanting to come back into someone's life when they had the chance to be together. It is also interesting to decipher the difference between what someone says and what they want. The song came out at a time when J Lo was going through a break-up with Sean Combs, and there are suggestions that the song might have been her way of sending a message to him.

@Nancy2420s

We dont have any music today!! Music is dead now. 90s and 2000's will never be replaced.

@agentcodybanx8909

'It must be the ass" is the greatest intro to any song ever

@Papi.Pharaoh

Ja Rule deserves so many awards for all the great music he blessed us with in the early ‘00s, all of his songs are timeless hits. You couldn’t turn the radio on back then without hearing a song from him. He used to be the man. Until this very day, I felt like they should’ve gave my girl Ashanti her credit for her background vocals.
