Regarding the video, the band have said:

"some of it was supposed to be a fantasy some of it real. i guess i would say it was kinda shining a light on how letting things turn into a routine is dangerous. also i just wanted to see a butcher chop that dang bunny in half."

But looking at the lyrics of jusy the opening line:

"Boy handler now you're on my mind
Your night gender is changing all the time
The oil war is down on faggot street
Tighten up your jeans, let them know, drag your feet"

I think there could be more to unpack. Granted, everyone may have different interpretations, this is just one possibility.

A "boy handler" could be a paedophile or someone with power over a child, a powerful opener that states matter of factly that evil exists in the world.

"now you're on my mind", even though the person is now grown up they still think of the boy handler, the tone suggests this is perhaps with indifference.

"Your night gender is changing all the time" perhaps by night, when left alone with ones thoughts, the person reimagines themselves as a different gender. It's notable that this song was released at a time when LGBT movements and gender disphoria diagnosise were starting to make headlines, perhaps this is a nod to people affected by such struggles.

"The oil war is down on faggot street", this could be suggesting that the establishment is against such LGBT movements, 'faggot street' describing those people in either an ironic way or as a reapportionment or to bolster the views of the opponents.

"Tighten up your jeans, let them know, drag your feet" to the oppressed people, don't let your opponents pull down your trousers, march slowly (drag your feet), and, in essence, make a stance on your point.

I think the other verses describe someone going to a gay club but not wanting their mother to find out because of shane etc.
