He is best-known for hits "Put It On Me", "Between Me And You", "Wonderful" and for being associated with Jay-Z as a part of The Murderers. Ja Rule has sold over 20 Million albums worldwide and has released six albums with one on the way. His best-selling albums are Pain Is Love and Rule 3:36. Ja Rule has beefed with rappers DMX, 50 Cent, The Game, Busta Rhymes, Dr. Dre, and Eminem.
Early life:
He attended Junior High School in Floral Park, New York, where he met his future wife Aisha Murray and they graduated in 1991. They attended Martin Van Buren High School together but he did not graduate. When Atkins was five years old, his sister died from respiratory problems. Growing up in a strict religious home, Atkin's family did not celebrate birthdays and Christmas, and as a child, was not allowed to listen to rap music. When he first heard it, he decided to be a rapper. He would sneak the music into his house and played it on his CD player when his mother wasn't around. Atkins is married to his high school sweetheart, Aisha Atkins née Murray. They have three children: Brittney (11), Jeffrey Junior (6) and Jordan (3).He and his family live in a mansion in New Jersey.
Rise to Fame:
At age 15, Atkins appeared with 0-1 and Chris Black as part of Cash Money Click. This would lead to him being signed by TVT Records in 1994. He would end up being heard by a young DJ who called himself DJ Irv, then later Irv Gotti. Gotti, was a friend of Jay-Z's and he was also a DJ for Def Jam Recordings. During the mid 90s his main priority was meeting Ja Rule. He wanted to sign Ja to his new label Murder Inc. Records. He wanted Ja because of his distinct deep voice. After Irv was able to sign Ja along with DMX and Jay-Z to Def Jam. He began to have an idea that they all work together. They formed a group named The Murderers. They recorded many songs together. Friction tore the group apart, DMX, a rapper that sounds very similar to Ja accused him of trying to steal his style with the deep voice, by saying that before the three were signed Ja tried to make his voice sound lighter but heard him embrace the deep voice and tried to imitate it. They had planned to release an album together, but this idea was scrapped and they all made appearances on their respective albums. Still, around this time, Ja Rule was still fairly unknown. Jay-Z, at the time a young star and new to Def Jam, was the most popular rapper in hip hop. Russell Simmons had the idea that in order to build hype around Ja Rule and capitalize on Jay's popularity that Ja Rule do a verse on Jay-Z's 1998 single Can I Get A..., which also featured Amil. Ja's performance of the verse made him a household name and he became an instant star and by the release of his album a year later he was one of Def Jam Recordings premier acts.
Love Me

Do you love me, do you hate me
Do you love me, do you hate me
Yeah, yeah
This world loves me, this world loves me not
I'm torn between the best of both cus I'm hot
In this game so brittely, literaly
R-U-L-E, need I say more?
World, hope y'all prepared for the chaos
Cause y'all want the beast in me, so I'ma give it
Paint pictures vivid, live high as a spirit
Y'all can all jump in it
That's what you might as well do
If you gonna live life timid
And I ain't never been intimidated
Believe me, and I don't wanna fuckin' breath easy
I wanna make it hard for these niggas
So when they can't stand me
I'ma make it so these niggas can't feed they family
Now do you love me, or do you hate me?
C'mon and get me, I keep it off safety
[Chorus]
Do you love me
Do you hate me
Ready or not
Here I come
There's nothin' but love spread between me and my niggas
We bust guns together and fuck so many bitches
But I know that Hell is callin'
In the name of the lord just let a nigga in
Cause I ain't done nothin' wrong, but love thy self
And harm other niggas that wanna stop my health
Is that healthy?
Cause love'll never be hand over hand
It's man versus man
It's Murda
If I'm gonna be hated or to be loved
I prefer ta live wild and die from slugs
What you want from me?
Lord I'm only a human
Tho I bear your name, I'm a devil in chains
Release me, cause Lord only knows it ain't easy
When I'm scarred for life, I know that he sees me
Now do you love me nigga
Or do you hate me nigga
C'mon and get me
I'm waiting nigga
[Chorus: x2]
Y'all just wanna watch me rise, then watch me fall
Before it's all done I'ma die from it all
I might OD in a club off drugs like River Phoenix
Or get shot down like BIG and Pac for my genius
I know this worlds seen it before, and here I come
I know y'all fiendin' for more, and I'm not done
As long as I can run through current like state times
Keep up a sane mind, and hand on my iron, I'ma blast off mine
Look in the eyes of a nigga who seldomely cries
I got a beautiful wife and kids, why me?
Y'all cats choose cash and cribs, why me?
If this good livin' Lord, why me?
When I live so dirty yet I'm worthy to be
Number one, the world's only begotten son
Here I come
[Chorus: x4]
Do you love me?
Do you hate me?
Do you love me?
Do you hate me?
Here
I
Come
The lyrics of Ja Rule's song "Love Me" is about the struggle between being loved or hated, and the internal conflict that comes with fame and success. Ja Rule talks about how the world loves him one minute and hates him the next. He is caught in between and doesn't know what to do. Ja Rule claims that he is torn between the two because he is hot, and those who love him and those who hate him make it difficult for him to find an equilibrium in his life. Ja Rule expresses confidence in his lyrical ability, and the world's love for his music when he says "R-U-L-E, need I say more? World, hope y'all prepared for the chaos."
The rapper shares his desire to make it hard on the people who hate him, so they can't provide for their families. He talks about striving to be a better version of himself and living life on the edge. And as much as he loves himself, Ja Rule admits he struggles with feeling like a misunderstood and confused individual. He shares his perspective that love can never be handed over hand, and it is now man versus man. Ja Rule then confronts God, begging to be released from his internal chains as he has suffered enough in this life.

Ja Rule is so Iconic. I believe he continued the mission where 2pac left off prematurely. Many white people & police hated him for that. But many people who loved & missed 2pac love Ja Rule.
